I'm a 18 year old homesteader hoping to start my own regenerative farm someday. Raising chickens, vegetable gardening, riding ATV's, old Ford Rangers, hunting, and filming all of it for RU-vid are just some of my hobbies!
I have a 2003 ford ranger xlt 3.0 RWD automatic transmission and it does pretty good. It is a little mean machine. But i keep it tuned up pretty well. The bad thing about the 3.0 is they are starving for air, and a K&N filter works wonders on horse power and gas mileage. K&N filter in the factory air box and a plug in little tuner at OBD2 port works pretty good.
I got an 03 5-speed 4banger Ranger, yall got any tips or tricks as to improving/increasing power? I know about the throttle cable/zip tie method, I’m wondering more about aftermarket intakes and exhaust systems
I can't say much about aftermarket intakes and exhausts, I know they should definitely help at least a little. I'm gonna have to try the zip tie method myself soon.
When I got that truck it said 75,000 on the dashboard an old man had it in his garage sat for five years wife sold it to me transmission went out for sitting to long😅
These are excellent trucks but the 3.0L is a very junky & gutless engine, it literally has the power of a 4 cylinder with the fuel economy of a V8. I’m shocked you get 20 MPG. That’s also not true about the XL’s all not having air conditioning, I had a ‘99 XL that had it. The manual transmission is made by Mazda, there was also a 5 speed automatic transmission option too which you didn’t mention.
Just letting u know because my 4.0l was super sluggish but u may have a stretch throttle cable I did and I fixed it with 2 zip ties and the thing rips now
Hope you're healing well Al. No fun being layed up in the summer! We've had some problems here in Ohio. Both peach trees were void of any fruit which was odd. Squash was fine one day and completely flat the next. Kale, cabbage and beans hardly amounted to anything. Wierd year! Also corn tasseled before it matured. How's your new job going?
Yeah there is a dial for the heat or just air blowing controls but no ac on/off button. It will still blow the coolest air it can take in from outside or heat. No air conditioning from factory on this one, it also comes with a block heater so my truck is one of the northern states/Canadian packages.
Thanks for the review. Doesnt sound like paddles we'd want to try. It would be interesting if they took your review comments and made changes to their design.
Have had mine for 2 years now. I love it and it holds up well. Use it all the time especially at work. The pliers, scissors and serrated edge blade is my most used tools on it and they're still going strong. The regular blade is good as well, it's like a full size pocket knife. The serrated edge blade is excellent for cutting thick straps that even razor sharp box cutter blades sometimes don't go through smoothly (which at work I go through those all the time)
Yeah I personally use those 3 tools quite a bit too. Serrated blades are designed to keep the sharp part of the blade sharp, I personally like mine for how well it cuts through cardboard, especially the thicker boxes.
We had that problem too !! We had several and ended up using poison unfortunately I also cleaned up around our coop so they didn’t have a place to hide and that seemed to help !! Rats are pretty smart !! Hope you get him eventually
They say that rats are pretty smart! Hence the reason he hasn't been caught yet! Maybe you ought to get a live trap and make him into a pet! Just say'en, if you can't beat them, join them! Lol!!! Congratulations on the growth of your channel Al!
