Why does the dealer recommend replacing the temp sensor in the transfer case when changing that oil?

That’s great, is the TC you worked on front or rear?. Hard to tell from video. Very good information though . Thank you

There is only one transfer case. Youre thinking of differentials. But, the process is quite similar.

The Transfer Case located in the middle of the SUV. You’re talking about the Front Differential (located in the front) and the Rear Differential (located on the rear). I’ll make videos of changing those fluids as well later.

By the way, the TC doesn’t use the same oil as the Differentials.

@@chazonyoo good call on mentioning that. Yes, they are diff fluids. The differentials both use 75w-90 gear oil. I use Liqui Moly.

Great Video. I just followed it for my 2016 Cayenne S without any issues. Only comment is that I had to remove engine mount altogether on the passenger side. It wasn't giving me enough room to insert spark plug socket with the extender. On the driver side, didn't need to use the wrench. Long extender for small 1/4" ratchet slides right past aluminum tube

The one closer to the driver on the driver side has too many obstacles.. how to remove that safely and put back in?

Thanks for posting! My wife is interested in Cayenne and I’m her “shade tree” mechanic. I’m glad to see it’s not terribly difficult as long as you have the proper tools and patience.

I appreciate it. Oil change would have been next from what I read it's just too messy when the oil drains out.

We need more great videos like this one .. Brake pad and brake fluid flush

Thanks! I'm not a brake pad and brake fluid flush kind of guy. There are DIY for that though.

Great video man!!!! I'll try to do my 2016 base, I hope it's the same steps :) . Did you have to gap these spark plugs? Did you buy them from the dealer?

You're welcome! It should be the same, it is a V6 after all. I bought the Bosch spark plugs from Autozone, but there is a store online that sells OEM ones.
