Starting a new fantasy series is such a serious undertaking, haha. I can only do two on the go and then I'm committed to end them before starting something new otherwise I'll end up with ten open series. Also, a fucking flano is sending me lmao.
I feel this! Also fantasy series have so much going on that if I have too many I won’t remember what relates to which series and I’ll get things muddled up! Haha glad you enjoyed that line 😂
I don’t know! They just recently did a preorder for all the books. So I don’t think they’d do another one this year. They are super popular so they’d be crazy not to bring them back!
@@nicreadss right!!? im recalling hoping they bring it back this year because I will definitely be purchasing!! tysm for this video it helped a lot to see what was really inside!
I surprisingly loved Mixed Signals and thought it was the best out of Lovelight so far, something about the relationship of the two seeming so much more realistic to the others meant it was a 5 for me, but the other two I gave a 4. I sometimes find it useful to look at what I rated for past reads to gauge if I am giving a true rating for a current book or if I'm being overly generous.
I really thought Mixed Signals was going to be my fave as Stella was a standout from book one, but idk the book fell a little flat for me compared to the others! See I like your method, however, when you rate one book incorrectly and then you base other ratings off it your whole system goes out the window 😂
Best wishes with what you choose to read. Every time I watcher book tube channels my tbr gets bigger! Currently on page 963 of the Count of Monte Cristo and still got some way to go. Happy reading.
This month I read my first Mystery/whodunnit in ages and I really liked it, called How to Solve Your Own Murder by Kristin Perrin. Easy, fun read. Also, I finally got to the Letters of Enchantment duology and I clapped the whole way through, especially Divine Rivals I adored.
Hey, sorry to see no comments on your beautiful channel. Can you please tell me more about the check&mate book. Whether I should read it or love hypothesis
Aww thank you! ☺️ I think it depends on what genre you prefer reading? Check & mate is a YA contemporary about an 18yr old who’s working to provide for her mum and younger sister. She used to be a good chess player but has called it quits due to her father. She ends up going in a charity chess match and beats the current world champion. She ends up being sponsored to play chess, as she gets fired from her job and has to spend a lot of time with world champion, and the love story is so cute. The ending was a little disappointing but overall I loved it. The Love Hypothesis is a new adult contemporary focusing on the STEM world and women’s struggles in it. It’s been a couple years since I read it, The main character is a student in her final years studying, and something happens and she ends up fake dating one of the professors who isn’t much older than her and they end up actually dating? Both books are excellent!! I love all of her books, but if you prefer YA books I would go with Check and mate!
Your bookshelves are just goals, super goals!! 😍😍😍 Love how aesthetically pleasing they look, great video! I have a personally fun question for you. Which random romance books would you wanna recommend to Swifties?
Thank you so much!!! Funny you should ask that question because I’ve been contemplating doing a video like that for each album/era 😂 but off the top of my head I would say anything by Emily Henry or Ali Hazelwood, basic I know
Sadly HOFAS was a 3.5 for me 🥲I felt like there was a lot of info dumping, people should have died and terrible side plots 😞 I did hear she was told by her publish to re-write a chunk of it quite late so maybe this contributed to the (imo) poorly executed plot. Also, how ironic that you picked HOFAS for Castles Crumbling given the prompt name 😭 Bride is on my TBR so I'm excited to get to it in a few months 😂
That’s a completely fair rating! I do agree with your comments. Yeah she said in an interview that she scrapped like the entire first draft and started again, firstly, how? 😂 but yeah the plot was poorly executed and I don’t think this series was done justice? Let me know what you think of Bride!
will be so curious what you think of the bone witch! i read it at the start of this year and it seems you either love it or it misses the mark. i'll wait for your review to tell you what i decided on 🤭 also i read those tessa bailey books as my intro to contemp. romance and it is very easy writing to start with. very average books and sometimes the writing is cringe, but i love reading them after i've finished a long fantasy novel haha.
Look I’m not sure when I will get around to reading it, but good to know I will go one of 2 ways lol. Look I think for an intro to contemp romance Tessa Bailey isn’t bad, but she’s not great imo. But yeah definitely sometimes you just need something easy and predictable to read after a fantasy 😂
Since I started using StoryGraph I had to change how I rated them cause it gives you .25 increments. Ive now constructed a rating system which is a summarising sentence for each increment to express my overall feelings like: life left severely unchanged or some might say very good (me) or successfully held my interest 😂
I’ve gotten StoryGraph and I saw it has the .25 increments and I was like no we’re not doing this 😂 I do like you’ve used a summarising sentence, yours are hilarious!
i'll be at eras on sunday and monday! it's coming up so quick, i'm so excited. i love watching TBRs but then my list just gets longer and longer. i have like 25 books on hold via libby at the moment which i keep having to delay delivery cause i have like 5 ongoing at all times, haha! also, after having used storygraph for about a month i LOVE it compared to other reading journal apps. i'd recommend trying it if you're on the fence about the one you were using.
Omg yes 🫶🏻 so excited you’re going to 2 shows too!! Haha I am the exact same, good for book recommendations but then the TBR continues to be ever growing haha. Thank you for the update! I was considering getting it and trialling both at the same time haha. After I finish my current read I may just download and give it a go!
See, Venus vaguely does resemble us. She wasn’t painted laying on the sand, so from thy towel clumsily come up and rise the way no sunburnt model can. But where have all our promised paintings gone? Ourselves in ancient versions reached for fate, but then we had to get a different job, and turned our back to fruits our jobs replaced. Irrhythmic dots excited brushes left; we art already what we’re meant to be. You are the muse for clouds who lose their breath! Why should we have to pay to live and breathe? Let’s walk the beach’s boulders as we are and lend our future selves a scene to paint. - a sonnet tht i wrote.
Hey! Do you have goodreads or StoryGraph? I wanna sprinkle in some romance that you recommend in my tbr but it’d be easier to check as I go to add them, if you don’t mind sharing!
Hey! I haven’t used my goodreads in about 2 years, so it’s very out of date for current reads, but I believe this is the link, www.goodreads.com/nicreadss ☺️ I’m currently trialling Bookmory this year, but I don’t believe it’s shareable. I was going to give storygraph a try next year, unless you think it’s the best app out of the 3? I’m willing to switch, haha. I adore Emily Henry and Ali Hazelwood for romance - so give them a try!
I’ve just switched to storygraph from goodreads on the recommendation of a friend, so I’m not sure what’s the best either haha. I will add those authors in to start, thanks!
Keep me updated on what you think of Storygraph! I’m not entirely sold on Bookmory so would be interested to hear thoughts on the other option. No worries! And the good thing is they have a number of books each and they are all standalones so you don’t need to read them all. Although Ali’s books are loosely connected, like the characters make small appearances.
No one shall buy thee’s sunken treasure soul, although you squint into the phone you bought. Rapunzel’s psyche turned her hair to gold. Too much you wonder why your hair is not. The wealthy think they bought you with their bills. Perhaps they did. Conformed, you sold yourself. Your selfies hinting of eclipsed freewill; thy face a treasure map you shouldn’t sell. Rapunzel’s greatest comb, a shard of glass, but are you brave enough to cut your hair? or take your buried treasure spirit back, depart, escape, the 9 to 5 career. In freedom, hair becomes a human brown. Our broken mirror combs belong to us now
Love how there’s such a mix between books you’re replacing and books you don’t like. My bookshelves aren’t as good as yours so I would never think about size and stuff but I totally appreciate how good they look on your shelves when they match! Such an epic destash though!
Your face on the cover of this video is great haha. I know I’ve said this before but I love unboxing videos and you love these books so I’m going into this with high hopes. Omg and I have not being disappointed. This video was great and those covers are so pretty and look so nice together
Ambitious but definitely possible! I love that even though you think Colleen Hoover is overrated you still give all of her books a go. I hope the trilogy is amazing for you and can’t wait for the review
Glad the Paris one was good - definitely going to add to my list! Ohh the welcome to the neighbourhood one is also going on my list now thanks to your review!
