J D Chakravarthy's acting and eye language was of the level of Kamal Haasan and must have been given the recognition for his performance and style of acting.
I was 9yo when Geela geela paani was shoot in Mukesh mill colaba,I am living near by at that I know one memory I ask one crew member what is the movie name and he reply "Satya" similar my name it still gives me nostalgia ❤
The movie proves that when actors who work not for money, forget where they are and if at all they are acting, lyrics come from one man whose tranquility seems like still water of the bottom of an ocean, a background music that stops the heart beating, Satya will happen. I suppose destiny had it written that Satya will come and conquer. I believe another Satya will never be made. Lets just preserve the prints somewhere so that 100s of years from now someone somewhere will drop a tear while watching it once again !
This was released on heavy rainy days and probably hence initially there was a slow response for the first 2 weeks. Later with mouth publicity it blasted. It was even made tax free in Maharashtra though not sure about other states. It was a fantastic experience. Glad we did not miss the first view in theaters and escaped the pirated versions broadcasted by local cable operators of those times 😅
17:12 reason why we don't have great song. Just imagine actors director and writer scare to say anything to a lyricist. Same goes to music director. There was a time when everyone know their role in film making process. Now everything is decided by music company or so call movie star.
07:30 no doubt great film, one of my top 5. but hold your horses manoj about your marathi accent,it was far from perfect and its quite appearent throughout the film. great role but you should have worked more on marathi accent. Little pronouciation impefections that only a marathi person can figure out from Scene 1 itself. Even the name is pronounced incorrectly by you. Its MHATRE (one joint word) not MA-HA-TRE. Infact, Shefali nailed the accent perfectly. Besides that, Great work!!!
