Good video. Don’t care for the AI but that’s where we are. Just got a beautiful Permacraft dresser, armoire, and nightstand for $100! Gonna try to flip it.
@@LisaRL70 armoire are heavy but actually desirable again...3 or 400 bucks if like new. .if higher prices on decorator sites but you need a very active account and many listings...us commissions can be 20 to 30 percent...plus you need nationwide shipping...local flip $159 to $400
I have a Boston Rocker from this company my parents owned. One of the spindles has broken off and the part got lost over the years. Would you happen to have any suggestions on how to replace the part? Thanks!
I have a couple pieces of Drexel bedroom furniture that I acquired from my aunt when she passed. I believe I have the 'Biscayne' 8 drawer dresser (Mirror got broken during a move), a chest of drawers that has 3 long drawers at the bottom with 2 cabinets on the top. On the right side of the cabinet doors is a split level shelf, and on the left side it has 3 smaller drawers inside. I haven't been able to find this piece online anywhere. The only numbers I could find on the back were 2480 - 2 .854. I'm guessing the 854 represents it was manufactured in August of 1954. I also have a nightstand and a end table. All of it must be from the 50's and it's in really good shape. I've been thinking about selling but I'm not sure what price to ask for it. I'm not trying to get rich but I'm also not trying to short myself. Any suggestions?
Make sure when yoy shine a light in front you can see a pin in the middle od the lock, otherwise you would need to rip off the back of the cabinet to remove the lock from the inside and replace it all, work and a cost of anout $50 today, everything is up so high.... but the key sets should work no problem, no cheaper way sorry....keys have shot up
I have a piece I can't find anything about. It is a china cabinet with a secretary inside. Light color wood, I believe, is stencil??? Of some sort of Asian, French idk. I am wanting to know value

Certaines pièces qui apparaissent dans la vidéo appartiennent au style art nouveau et non art déco.. De toutes façons, je n'ai pas compris l'objet de la vidéo . D'autres même à la renaissance espagnole.
Thank you for the info . Would you be willing to tell me more information on a 9 drawer dresser with a trifold mirror marked 212-130-1 french accent by drexel 1263
We have a Drexel Heritage Leicester desk with hutch, Serial Number 144-912 on the credenza base. It is in good condition. How do we determine the value for resale? Thank you. BobKat
I just purchased a used eaely american style 3 drawer 9 knob dresser. My question is....If i restore it, would its value drop? Second question, should i stain or paint? Third question. How do i find out how much is worth?
Excellent, informative video. Thank you for producing it. I just acquired a set of night stands stamped 210-620-1 and 462 on the back. Also French Accent by Drexel. Inside the drawers it reads by Drexel Reg Trade Mark. Could you possibly tell me what year they were manufactured? Thank you. Cate in Manitowoc, Wisconsin
I love my wild cherry wood bedroom suite, my grandmother bought it in the chicago area either in the 1940 or 1950', the dresser has 3 drawers on top and double side of 3 each, with large mirror, chest 2 small on top and 4 large drawers on bottom. On each side of desser and chest is scool work. The bed is cannon ball and typical of chippendale, bed is double. I wish it had come with night stands, I've looked but have never found any.
Hi Thank for the video. I have a drexel dresser and mirror. It is labeled 23I6-6 and then below is II/53. So does that mean it was made in 1953? It has curved drawers. Any idea on value?
Probably yes 1953, value guess 50 to 150, like brand new $500 to $750 no flaws clean brass clean drawers no smells..no I between prices, like new or just wholesale
I just came from so many different RU-vid pages….. these precious pieces are being found in thrift stores and they are being destroyed. Painted, cut down. I’ve never been so ashamed of peoples ignorance and low class before. I can’t tell you how many Haywood Wakefield hutches and even Temple Stuart’s I saw being chopped up, Chiseled, painted and stripped of their original beauty. I’m sorry, I could throw up. It was so horrifying.
I actually dont know what to say but agreed! we often are asked while delivering our pieces to remove the frankenstein piece from there home and put it in the garage cause they actually look horrible and low class.
@VintageFurnitureGuide Hello. Thank you for a very informative video. I have a Pennsylvania House oak secretary-style desk, and I'm trying to figure out if it was made in USA or somewhere else. It has four drawers on the bottom, with the top drawer being a bit shallower (in height) than the lower three drawers. It has a slanted hinged front that folds down to expose a desk surface, with three small drawers and some cubbyholes. The only brand marking I can find is a burned-in "Pennsylvania House" logo, burned into the left-hand inside piece of the top drawer. I can find no other labels or markings. Is it possible to tell if this piece was made in USA? It is very solid and seems to be well-built and well-finished. Some scuffs and scratches from previous owners. Thanks very much!
Thank you. I have an antique sideboard with a not-tall mirror topper that looks like an Empire piece. It has two doors on the bottom, the chunky turned under feet, one large drawer above the cabinet doors, and two smaller drawers. The drawers have key holes. When we bought it in the early '70s we had it stripped. It turned out it was made with more than one type of wood. The man who stripped it said that it was probably made during the depression and that's why the two types of wood. Does that sound correct to you?
I have the white EA bedroom dressers from the '60s and '70s. The white has yellowed and a lot of the veneer around the top corners has chipped off. Can anything be done for either issue? Thanks 😊
you could glue the venner down and maye paint the whole [iece, the yellowing we have never found a way to fix, Hitchcock furniture does the same, i would use a lacquer as varnish also yellows fast, at auction we skip pieces like you described, sorry for negative news. we also may use body car putty to fix missing veneer if you choose to paint, painting furniture in colonial periods was actually quite a common practice, idf the drawers are fiited dont use alot of paint as thre drawers may not fit after painting.
about 40 bucks? thats what you paid, if you have a regular busy seller account on a major platform we get about $400 but then minus 20% to 30% commissions and any boosted post fees and advertising costs plus our rents heat water lights , like i said we profit maybe $50 bucks at times, not an easy get rich quick scheme, people forget about business operations and costs, plus shipping @@RaymondBeedle-l2d
Thank you so much for this video. I just purchased a Drexel dresser that I believe is Drexel Heritage Federal Style. Are you able to confirm if it's Federal or something else, or even what year it might have been made? The numbers on the back are: 1615-2S/253
My husband and I purchase used Ethan Allen Baumritter Furniture in Nutmeg because they last. Most of our pieces are from the 1960's to 1970's. The other pieces we have are from Pennsylvania House in the same wood tone and quality. They are solid, in great shape and considered as highly desirable today.
