I understand and agree with the point about vulgar songs, it makes your mind polluted, really...but if the music/song is about things like devotion, patriotism, or loving one's family, or doing good things about society, should it still be considered haram?
Salam Brothers, I would highly appreciate it if some one were to help me out with this, I’m addicted to music too. But I’m trying to change my life for good and live my life according to Islamic teachings. At the moment I’m a bit confused about something and I’d highly appreciate it if someone could explain it to me and guide me to the right path, I’m doing research on whether music is Halal or Haram, everywhere I go people talk about songs with lyrics, I myself agree that we should refrain from those kinds of music cuz they’re the most misleading. But I wanna know if music itself is Haram(without any lyrics), at the moment i have a playlist of some popular music but converted into Arabic versions of themselves, those attract me a lot and I wanna know if they too are haram. What i dont understand about islam, they always try to defend their religion, and believe they are defending the religion of true God. I do believe in God, but i dont think He need islam, christian or anybody to defend Him. Islam is trying to be the God of the people, which they truly beleive if you not muslim you will not be able to go to heaven.
If it doesn’t have profanity in the music, I don’t see any problem in it. What is I like listening to nice tabla and Rabab. These people makes Islam harder, and harder every day. How about teaching people not to talk behind people and disrespecting people. Being kid and reasonable.

as a music student I got to say I do believe this man is right 100 percent I believe him for fact the roots of spanish music has idolatry and fornication and as I discovered new music Im more convince that music is evil with exemptions of praising music that is soft and don’t produce body to dance but a feeling of heart redemption
Riba is one of the serious and dangerous sins.. However, I have heard Shaikh Yasir Quadhi say there are a number of weak ahadith about the dangers of riba..'Smallest of riba is like having intimacy with one's mother' is one like that..
