Well done to the both of you for getting the Landy through to the finishing line. The start marhal was bloody hilarious.I had to smile every time she danced about
Hi. After the challenge and the well-deserved rest, a question for reflection.. What was the best decision and what would you have changed if you knew what you know today?! 🤔 Regards
Great question. I’m still on my way home, but the best decision was to make the adventure happen. As suspected the 90 is not ideal as it is short and wants to swap ends all the time so it needs a lot of driving. Maybe learning more about the regularity aspect of the event would be useful but honestly we wouldn’t change a thing. We didn’t go to win it, just experience the Dakar. The big problem is it is addictive….
Very good.. As others have said, it is a source of pride to have and see a 90 do a test like this. You represent adventure and passion for the sport and the car. If it were easy, anyone would do it!! Good rest and strength for the future.. 👍🏻
You both look pretty good with those converted medals around your necks. Well done. (Love the lady with the little dance routine at the start each day).
Congrats for the great result! The whole Land Rover community is so proud of you and the team, really enjoyed this Dakar series. And tank you Andrew for the hard work you been doing for years, we all benefit from it! Allisport craftsmanship is at the top of the line, and we (land rover owners) all benefit from it. Looking forward to order a radiator for my td5 and surly some others goody's!!! Hope to talk to you soon, have a wonderful journey! Sheers mate
What an adventure and experience guys. So stoked that a Defender participated and did so well, Just shows how well build they are. Sure every car will have its share of problems. I hope you will do it another time. And in any small form to make an indirect contribution I am ordering your full airbox kit you developed for the puma 2.2/2.4
Well done and congratulations !!!! Some small problems, but the Landy didn't let you down. Thanks for the nice videos and photos, and keeping the REAL Defender's name high... Wohooooo, up the Green Oval!! Regards from South Africa 🇿🇦 🎖️🎖️ 🇿🇦
Bloody Landcruiser, did not like to be outclassed by the Land Rover Defender. No matter what. You guys are class helping others and you make the Land Rover community so proud. Massive kudos from Australia.
You doing great Andrew! After all we are all human and I guess mistakes is part of it 🤷🏻♂️ Don't let go, you make it true the end. If you don't mind me asking, what thermostat are you running with your Allisport radiator? Sheers from Switzerland
Another great update. You would be well aware of the term 'shit happens', so put the bonnet strap mishap behind you and on with the race. Not many stages left now.
Classic 'Human Factors' Andrew - Distraction and Fatigue. Whilst you can't put it totally behind you - you're looking through the result as a reminder, unless you change the screen - if that's the worst mistake you make on this gruelling endurance event, then you should feel proud. Best of luck with the rest of the stages, I for one have enjoyed following with your daily update, and would love to do the event as well.
Great walk around! I do love the Borg Warner transfer box - we use one too! Very inspirational - I suspect I’ll be full of questions when you are back! Good luck with the next challenges - keep it together!
Very interesting Andrew, you’ve supplied many of your excellent quality kit for 300 TDi Wolf, which I have to admit have made a World of difference, great to see them tested in an extreme rally, keep up the great work and good luck 🤞
