Born and raised there. First job was at Safeway there on Fog (Now Vons). Makes me homesick! I left my heart there but had to leave the state because it went nuts.
This is the Barton Hill area - there's some pockets that are okay, however not the best area in Pedro. Please note pretty soon many of these neighborhoods will be sought after a bit more because of their proximity to the harbor. Feel free to reach out if I can help in any other way.
Most of the pollution near the San Pedro harbor blows out off shore to Long Beach, not into Pedro. Anywhere west of ports of call, you will be in the clear.
Smog's not that bad! We've had worse in the Southeast There's an old critically acclaimed movie called To Live and Die in LA where Billy Peterson jumps off of the Saint Thomas Vincent Bridge 🌉,! That's my connection to it!
When I lived in Los Angeles I lived not far from Silver Lake. Over the years Silver Lake became so popular that I started to see ads for rental properties claiming to be in the Silver Lake area when in fact they were as far away as Fountain Avenue farther west on Sunset Blvd.
I lived on Hyperion at Sunset through the 80's before it was cool. When they started the junction fair it got even cooler. Now I'm stuck in a corn field in Penna. L.A's the place!
I too lived on Hyperion Ave. off of Sunset Blvd near Sanborn Junction. Lived there from 1965 to 1978. Back then, as you said, it wasn't all that cool of an area. Rents were very affordable.
I miss 60s through 90s Silver Lake. It used to be almost the only person walking around the reservoir was the "Walking Doctor of Silver Lake." There are just way too many people here, now. Hey, get offa my lawn!!
I know a lot of san pedro history i went to elementary school.at meyler street school.to.learn how to tread tires they had a crafts class i learn how to make.key chains, rugs, itbwas so much fun they fed us saltine crackers soak in fish oil so delicious i knew some kids from peedro i grew up.in Wilmington i still have good friends that live in san pipas
Nope " Vincent Thomas Bridge" Vincent Thomas was a former assemblyman representing the 68th 52nd districts in California and to my knowledge was never sainted.@@livinginlosangelescaliforn577
Nice to see the neighborhood I grew up in. From E.R. Elem, to ERHS.. Skated(Skateboarding) down almost street. Also to add All Star Lanes has much history. Anyone remember the local Vans shoe store?
I used to love walking to that area. (I'd walk up the hills coming from the downtown area) but I stopped because the people who live in those homes seem to think that I was a sort of thief and once i was confronted for stopping to rest and take pictures. Granted my fashion sense is nothing to brag about, but I am far from homeless looking. lol.
Check out this article it is interactive and shares a lot of information about crime in Los Angeles www.usatoday.com/story/news/2023/03/20/los-angeles-crime-rates-map-safest-neighborhoods/11032761002/
Here's prime example of what rich racist white folks do price u out your community they don't want Mexican or blk people here they try to make it all uppity the ports of call i once knew a kid is gone cuz rich man seen a cash cow they built alot new apartments an they charge u 4000 for a small one bed room crazy capitalism at its best🤬
Good video but your showing the low key rich neighborhoods and people that can afford to rent or buy in these neighborhoods are not gonna be on RU-vid subscribing to realtors so please make a video for low income or middle class people that want to live in safe areas in California no disrespect
I hear you. These are not the most affordable places, and it is probably a big reason they are some of the safest loactions in Los Angeles. In regards to the subscribers, I hear from all walks of life, and yes, we do get subscribers that are looking to buy in some of these higher end locations. I do agree that I should also create videos about other affordable and safe locations and will take your advice. I appreciate your feedback, thank you.
