Great little interview. Watching Bens journey on the green from start to finish was amazing. So much work involved and the results speak for itself. Looking forward to the future projects.
I use my push reel mower when it gets close to a frost and through winter as it's easy to use with the slower growth and the cleaner cut allows for me to keep a green lawn in through the frosts even with my Kikuyu.
We did a short one on this about 4 years ago, definitely time for a new one with a bit more comprehensive information, will look to get in the works, thanks mate - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l7XNuCfUkMU.html
As a fledgling lawn care youtube vlogger (ergh) with no way gonna hit the heights of Ben, I fully agree with the filming on the street and the neighbours go past 😅😅😅 great interview
Enjoyed listening to the podcast but even better to watch. Back drop is just magic. Ben is very knowledgeable and has helped me out heaps. Great to have him on the channel.
I like that Ben is a down to earth bloke, started up his own business while working full time and grew it into something he could then turn into a replacement full time job but also a hobby. Full credit to him!
There is some truth to it, clippings are a good source of nitrogen, but there is a limit to how much clip you want falling back into the profile or clumping on the surface. More info here - lawnsolutionsaustralia.com.au/lawn-care/catch-rake-grass-clippings/
Bro man can you or anyone give me an estimated difference between the effective duration of topical vs direct(plowing/tilling) application of gypsum and lime? ❤
Can I ask what the reasons for the two sizes of aerator are? Like is it for the type of grass, the ease of use, is one more suited to renovation etc. Live in Albury NSW, been working on getting my lawn nice and this summer I have it green and low on weeds, planning out my lawn care products for next year so I can make my lawn look 100% and your corer's look like the best to get. Just need to pick which one!
Yep. I noticed my lawn last year looking patchy and I had a lawn care company applying solution but they did a crappy job. They treated for weeds, dandelions, crab grass and grubs. Paid all the money and still had everything. Today, I was pulling a few dandelions and saw a grub which I wasn't surprised. I'm going to try this and hope it works. Not paying companies that promise but don't deliver.
Why in the world would you core your lawn to make space where all the things you said including water and to aerate it, but then you break apart all the plugs so that it fills the holes again?
I have an area of about 30sqm of "no mow grass" (Zoysia teniflolia). Reasonably established but it is slow growing so not all clumps have knitted together but most have. Would oxafert be safe to use. I have a real problem year round with creeping oxalis. I have previously used all purpose weed control liquid and all the zoysia went light brown. Took weeks to recover.
I got the $79 GREEN SCOTT lawnmower aeration wheel works awesome for gradual weekly aeration. Plus Canada 🇨🇦 made and he makes his own professional TINES. Crazy press system.
My backpack sprayer uses 8 litres of water when I spray my lawn in two directions - North/South then East/West. Two questions. Is it necessary to spray both ways to ensure even coverage and if so, do I stick to the recommended application rate of 200ml per 100m2 or double the amount of Exceed? My lawn is 100m2 in area.
I have kaikiu taking over couch in my lawn. What should I do. It’s too much to pull off with hands. Suggest some spray which won’t kill couch’s and where to find it. Thanks
