This is NOT 50wpm. The keyer may be set at 50wpm but his word gaps are way to wide making it more like 40wpm. So far I have not found anyone who can actually send a real 50wpm. Compare this to a keyboard and you will hear the difference.

Tnx for the review Carlo. Is this paddle the one you prefer to use? I’m using a UR5CDX Iambic and like it but am intrigued with the solid state 9A5N. Is there anything you do not like about the 9A5N paddle? Tnx 73, Ken, N5EE

Great vide Carlo. Is the side swiper better than a semi automatic bug? What about an iambic paddle? I can see it would be MUCH easier on a persons wrist vs on a straight key!

Leonessa
@marcinmerrimack1726
@marcinmerrimack1726 Год назад
Interesting that she’s using iambic keying (vs single-action) which, as I understand, becomes more difficult to do without errors at very high code speeds. Ironically, the Leonessa is the only Begali key that can be easily converted to single-action keying. But I guess there would be a learning curve to key properly without iambic action if that’s what you’re used to.
@F5VMJ

@@marcinmerrimack1726 The Janus too I think, but a little dearer. I have a Leonessa. 73 F5VMJ

@ Paul O'Jorge Yes, I see you’re right about the Janus. Why did you choose the Leonessa? Do you use it for iambic or single-lever keying?
@F5VMJ
@F5VMJ Год назад
@@marcinmerrimack1726 I liked the overall design better of the Leonessa and it was cheaper:) Although I do think the actual paddles of the Janus are nicer. I use it in iambic.

Thanks for the upload. I just acquired and build a "Mini B" from American Morse Equipment, and am going to start learning how to use one. I have heard that they are less fatiguing on the wrist than a straight key. I use paddles mostly, so it will be a bit of an adjustment, but I think I can manage that.
