We're the custodians of Scotland's canals - a vital part of our nation's rich heritage, contributing to Scottish life for 250 years. Today, we are putting these resources to work in ways our forebears couldn't have imagined to help secure a brighter future for the people of Scotland.
Was there any consultation regarding the placing of moorings so close to residential areas? I ask as my sister is now overlooked by moorings at St Magdalenes where the canal runs at high level past the back of their houses. There are privacy, litter and noise issues now from some of the less considerate boaters. Very grateful for the bank strengthening works, given the recent problems at Muiravonside, but consideration should have been given to speaking to homeowners on the stretches where the canal is so close to these properties.
