helped me just by telling me how to remove the stupid thing. Offshore boat and no access to this pump to see what it is or how to remove. Looks like yours and it came off. Thanks!!
I have to tell you my fish story. It was 1998, I live in Texas and was in Ft Lauderdale for a few days for work. I had never been SW fishing at all, so decided to get on a party boat at 6 PM for a 4 hour trip. Maybe 10 of us on the boat and we were gonna bottom fish for whatever is down there. As soon as the boat was just out of the marina, I threw a line over the back and BAM ! I damn near had a heart attack when that sail fish jumped out of the water. That guy was MAD too. He jumped and jumped and the 1st mate was hollering at me what to do. We got him to the boat and Ive been hooked on SW fishing and particularly sailfishing ever since. You never know what you might catch.
Yes, that should fit into a two car garage. Measure everything a bunch of times. Folding tongue trailer should make it easy. Just make sure the Panga doesn't have too much height to clear the door. So many advantages to having the boat in the garage!
Sorry for very late reply, 😊, Yes, should not be a problem as long as garage is well vented. Have had this boat with 50 gallons inside the garage for about 8 years, and skiff before that one with 20 plus gallons for over 10 years.
Hi Landy, sorry for late reply. That would be tight for sure. Possibly could be done corner to corner with folding tongue trailer like I have. My boat is 19'10", so figure 20 feet, and my garage is about 21'6". So it sounds similar. I would want to know is your boat exactly 19 feet, and is your garage exactly 20 feet deep? And it would definitely need to be a two car garage to have any chance at it. Hope that helps.
Thanks for the video! I’m in the same sitation. I’m thinking between 19-20 foot center console that can go offshore. Since you offered, why did you select “that” boat.
Sorry for late reply. The Pioneer fit all the criteria I was looking for. The largest, most seaworthy and family friendly boat that was a decent fishing machine. And it had to fit the garage. After nearly 5 years of ownership, I can tell you that its a very good boat. Quality of construction very high. I will be happy to go into the pros and cons in more detail if you are still looking.
Hey Thrasher, Couldn't give you an exact measurement for that, but I have about 6 inches to spare, coming under the door when backing in. So figure from floor to top of console, about 6'10", since my garage highest clearance is 7'4". The boat might be a little less than that, but you need to factor in if you will mount anything on top of the console, like a compass, and maybe VHF antenna that folds down. Best of luck and hope that helps.
Not really hacks more like Tricks that not everyone seems to have commons sense to think or know about, let alone take the time to find the simple things like the folding drawbars which have been around for a few decades now. When you say height of door, you mean from floor to bottom most of opened door for maximum boat on trailer height.
Yes, that's correct. That measurement may be considerably different for other 2 car or single car garages, and its sometimes the hardest thing to find out about a boat on a trailer, difficult to measure, and dealers often don't know the exact height of the highest point of a boat on a trailer.
Dave what is the exact trailer you have . I have a 3 car garage and want to put a 197 in it. I currently have a 175 bay sport. I want something bigger though. My opening is 80 inches. I think you said you have a 7 foot 4 inch opening. How much clearance do you have ? Do you think I could clear with 80 inches? How did you have your grab bar modified?
Hey Shawn, sorry for the late reply, My garage height is 88 inches at its lowest point. My boat clears it by about 6-8 inches, so that is cutting it very close for you, if your talking about a Pioneer 197 Sportfish. Wonder if there is some way you could pick up another few inches of height on that opening. Pioneer will make the boat with the removable windshield and removable grab bar. Talk to Henry at Pioneer, he will make it or modify it for you. Also make sure your garage has at least a double wide door on one part, and not 3 single doors. Also if you talk to Alan at Miami Trailer, he will have the specs on my trailer, and he may be able to make the trailer with a lower profile. It needs to be single axel unless your garage is super deep, so you can spin it once its inside. The three car garage should make it easier, so you just need the lowest profile trailer you can get for the boat. Hope that helps.
