In its near-three decades of existence, the choir has reaped 82 top prizes in the world's most prestigious choral competitions, visited 33 countries in Europe, North America, Asia Pacific, and Oceania, and completed 33 international goodwill concert and competition tours.
The UST Singers holds the distinction in being the only choir in the world to have won twice the highly coveted Choir of the World Grand Prize - Luciano Pavarotti Trophy (in 1995 and in 2010) at the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod, the oldest choral competition in the world headquartered in Wales, the United Kingdom.
graaaaaave ang dynamics....perfectly interpreted... i miss singing this song... we used to sing this on wedding events during my chorale days years ago... i love the music itself... UST Singers, the choir to beat aside from MADZ
A beautiful arrangement and rendition of one of my favorite Filipino (Visayan) folk songs. This song always moves me. I hope the UST Singers will hold another concert like this one soon.
It's supposed to be a festive song but the way it's interpreted in the intro is it's like for a cult or death ritual and the way it proceeded until the end is stiff. You ruined the origin and meaning of the song. It's so sad that the culture you're supposed to show is not really there. Uhm..still, 2 claps for trying.
Blomfield, Dorothy F. , was born at 3 Finsbury Circus, Oct. 4, 1858. Miss Blomfield is the eldest daughter of the late Rev. F. G. Blomfield, sometime Rector of St. Andrew's Undershaft, London, and granddaughter of the late Dr. Blomfield, Bishop of London. Her very beautiful hymn for Holy Matrimony, “O perfect Love, all human thought transcending," was written for her sister's marriage in 1883, and was intended to be sung to Strength and Stay, in Hymns Ancient & Modern, No. 12. Subsequently it was set as an anthem by J. Barnby for the marriage of the Duke of Fife with the Princess Louise of Wales, on July 27, 1889. In 1889 it was included in the Supplemental Hymns to Hymns Ancient & Modern, and in 1890 in the Hymnal Companion. (In this version it is being sung at half speed of the intended tempo.)
Naka touch and it brings nostalgic feeling to see the Alumni Singers residing abroad serenading Sir Fidel.
Happy 60th Birthday Sir Fidel. All i wish is good health throughout the years, so you could still make good music to the Lord, to our country and to the world. Keep safe always Sir Fidel...
