The best music of any horror film. I remember when I first saw this opening and thought, my goodness, this film will be good. It was, to my taste, a little slow in places but Lee, Cushing and Freddie Jones were outstanding. Love the part about 'evil rules' and 'the thrill of disgust'.
Has anyone seen the youtube post that uses this music and scenes from the movie that created a fantasy TV series trailer to what might have been.i cant find it after searching for a long time
i saw this in 1978/9 as part of BBC2's Horror Double Bill season on saturday nights. I recorded by audio tape all the intro music to those movies, but always loved this particular theme. Thanks for posting. ATVmidlands
a good score! well done. Although i would have writen the bassline as alternating 7/8 and 9/8 bars, but thats just me. Thank you, anyway! This are going to come in handy =)
love the way they used this piece of music when flocke, ben, sun and richard are mincing up to see jacob. like a false sense of security almost. like they are going on a trek like they used to but not for good intent as the man pretending to be locke is gonna commit murder.
This, and one or two others, are important for another reason. This is London in 1973. No Millenium Wheel, No Eye, etc. It's a city scape of what London used to look like.
I loved this film the musical score was great and sinister! Chris Lee wasn't keen on doing another Drac after AD72 but reluctantly did this one, which is my favourite of them all. The story worked well I thought.
It's the intro to the final Hammer's Dracula film from 1973..... Lee moved on to do Man With The Golden Gun after this..... 1972/3 was really the last good year(s) for British movies for film/horror....
