Jesse James robbed the west with his 44 revolver Elvis rocked the world with his six string Can't get no hotter than they were Dead or alive, still setting the style Stars in our eyes driving women wild Guns and guitars kill the ladies Can't say no 'cause they're driven crazy By song singing bullet flinging men that won't mind stars Living and dying by the people's screams And women can't sleep 'cause they're too busy dreaming 'Bout falling in the hands of men with guns and guitars Johnny Cash wore black and sang about prison Billy the Kid wore his peacemaker to a showdown Neither one would listen to what anyone said at any time Made their own bad walk down the line Guns and guitars kill the ladies Can't say no 'cause they're driven crazy By song singing bullet flinging men that won't mind the stars Living and dying by the people screams And women can't sleep 'cause they're too busy dreaming 'Bout falling in the hands of men with the guns and guitars They say a high wire act is hard to handle Women love the challenge, so it's understandable Why guns and guitars kill the ladies Can't say no 'cause they're driven crazy By song singing bullet flinging men that won't mind the stars Living and dying by the people screams And women can't sleep 'cause they're too busy dreaming 'Bout falling in the hands of men with guns and guitars 'Bout falling in the hands of men with guns and guitars
Somewhere in the Georgia rain is where I I lost my mind Off the coast of California's where I I done my time New York made me my money And Nevada made me lose it again I can't tell you where I'm goin' But I tell you where I've been I spent some time in Mexico And I was runnin' from the gun I crossed back over the Rio Grande To find I was still on the run With the law on my trail I made it to the coast of Maine I can't tell you where I'm goin' But I'll tell you where I've been I've been on a fast track And I don't look back Livin' how I want Can you deal with that? Goin' down a road that's full of sin Been to Hell on a train and back again I can't tell you where I'm goin' But I know where Iv'e been Don't know where I'm goin' But I know where I've been I got a job in Florida Workin' out off the Keys Livin' a single life Doin' things as I please When I stepped back on the land The law was after me again I couldn't tell 'em where I'm goin' But I told 'em where I've been I've been on a fast track And I don't look back Livin' how I want Can you deal with that? Goin' down a road that's full of sin Been to Hell on a train and back again I can't tell you where I'm goin' But I know where Iv'e been Don't know where I'm goin' But I know where I've been Now I'm headed to Nashville Down to Nashville, Tennessee Gonna see if the folks down there They like the way I sing Maybe I'll be a millionaire And maybe just a has been Singin' songs 'bout where I'm goin' And songs about where I've been I've been on a fast track And I don't look back Livin' how I want Can you deal with that? Goin' down a road that's full of sin Been to Hell on a train and back again I can't tell you where I'm goin' But I know where Iv'e been Don't know where I'm goin' But I know where I've been
I like so much about this song but it baffles me that three people wrote it and the best they could come up with was "I've got a shotgun, it's ridin' shotgun."
Discovered this song randomly on Pandora and just wow. Amazing song. hidden gem of the lyricist tbh. The one critique I have isn’t even about the song itself more the backstory surrounding the song. as a man who has been in a marriage that ended due to infidelity I don’t really like how we just glaze the wife’s betrayal and seem to just focus on other man. I don’t personally feel like this song is too long, so maybe could’ve thrown a person in there expounded more upon his feelings towards his wife at that moment. In those moments. Personally, I’m pretty lucky that I was never put in the position where I walked in on my now ex-wife and her affair partner but I’m pretty sure this may have been what went down (assuming he had been able to make it out of the house.) People can think what they want by me saying this but honestly, I probably would have lost my shit, killed her too and be sitting in prison until I could expect that needle. Sometimes you can be a really calm guy and something can happen to you in a certain way where you aren’t capable of rational thought or able to see even 15 minutes into the future to think about the consequences of your actions will bring you or others.
I'm an uninvited guest I never call ahead Sometimes we have a ball Sometimes you wish me dead I never cheat But I've wrecked a million homes You can change the lock But I won't let you sleep alone I never cry but I'm full of emotion I don't need an airplane To take me across the ocean I walk through walls I transcend time You might try to drown me But I have a million lives I'm your memory Keep me happy And you'll be fine We can fall in love Touch heaven everyday Or walk through hell alone I'm taking notes either way Never use erasers And I can right the wrong You better watch your step Cause you'll be dragging me along I never cry but I'm full of emotion Don't need an airplane to take me across the ocean I walk through walls I transcend time You might try to drown me But I have a million lives I'm your memory Keep me happy You'll be fine I never cry but I'm full of emotion Don't need an airplane to take me across the ocean I walk through walls I transcend time You might try to drown me But I have a million lives I'm your memory Keep me happy You'll be fine
Been trying to find a good country song about Indiana. Born and raised in Knox County, Indiana. Proud Hoosier. Plus, this song actually is good and sounds country unlike most country songs these days.
My town now has a "red dirt" weekend, and a lot of songs like this one comes through. Like Cody Jinks, Steel Drivers, etc. Radio stations here are finally realizing that we country folk are tired of the top ten on the hour every hour! During the week they step up and do the country thing right! Shout out to 99.7 KSJJ, in Bend, OR and 95.7 the Ranch out of Prineville !
So he's pissed and ready to run down and kill a guy just for getting his di€k wet. But nothing about the cheating whoore that brought him home with her. 🤔 that's up there with the women pissed at another chick not their boyfriend who can't keep it in his pants.
