Feb. 25, 2024.... I'm going to be coloring in a Bob Ross Coloring book using pencils and markers. I've done dozens of Bob Ross oil paintings and about 10 years ago I did watercolors like you did this of the same paintings I'd done in oils. Good for you. My watercolor paintings were beautiful, also.
Wow.. I wish I could watch you paint. Carry on your good work. 💪 Looking forward to subscribing to your art channel.. I may find some useful tips.. 🙏🙏😊😊
This was wonderful to watch you paint your lovely Dandelions (my favorite!). You made it look so easy, I'm going to definitely give it a go. I appreciate you sharing this video with us and will look for you tutorials in the future. Thank you.
I love your style and can see, watching some of your demonstrations, I'll be spending quite a few hours following your lead. Exceptionally fine work--thank you!
Very lovely! My art books generally say "nay" to using much black or white in watercolors, but looking how nicely you used them here causes some doubts about that! I'm anxious to try the white under paint in my next landscape. Your clouds here are just so delicate and I love them. Thanks for presenting this to us! 🎨
Thank you Michael. The white underpainting was not necessary, but just wanted to know what effect it would bring to the painting. 😊😊 I like using whites in watercolor.. its fun
Yes you are right.. For this type of painting acrylic is better. But I am experimenting with watercolor.. trying to get oil or acrylic like finish using watercolor.. 😊😊
I love❤, the amount of information 💓,. 💝.of this 💯,.💓,💖interesting tutorial ,💞 thanks for the beautiful video you share with us., Thanks for sharing,,💕,❤🩷,.,.,💓.
Thank you very much for this amazing tutorial! I tried it but unfortunately it wasn’t for a beginner like me. I didn’t except my colour mixing would differ from yours )) need to learn basics first :)
Thank you Daria. Output doesn't matter, especially the colors. Good thing is that we had a good time doing something different. Its obvious that we all get better after each painting. All the best 😊😊
Hi, We can maintain maximum whiteness of the paint by following these things: 1. Wait till the underlying layers of paint dries. 2. Do multiple layers of white 3. Use thick paint. Less diluted white. 4. Try more opaque paints like tempera or gouache instead of watercolor. Thank you 😊😊😊
Hi YT Storm.. Its definitely easy for everyone. You can do much faster than what I did. If you use a good quality paint, single layer will be enough instead of multiple layers. 🙂🙂
Hi Shri Kavijai.. I have tried some watercolor/tempera paintings on canvas before. But to be frank, it doesn't yield a desired result. But you can apply gesso on canvas to paint with watercolor. That works fine
This is an excellent tutorial and you are a great. Thank you for showing this technique. However, I am having difficulty between 2.40 to 3.20 getting the waves look like yours. Your waves look so natural and connected to each other with foam and bubbles etc. I tried so many times but mine does not look like yours. In the video it looks like you are able to do the entire section picking paint only once and without additional paint or water. Is it true or some steps are not shown? appreciate your help!
Narayan Kadekodi, sorry for the delay in replying. Yes sir, I repeated the same brush work (2:40 - 3:20) to make the corners dark and even. As you noticed, I have used more color and water to achieve that. I haven't showed that on the video as it was nothing different but the same brush work. The wave, foam and bubble like stuffs are not deliberately painted, it happened automatically because of the specialty of paper (100% cotton, 300 gsm cold pressed paper) Thank you for your appreciation and so happy that you found my video useful. 😊🙏
@@cosmosart-brushandpaint4650 Thank you for the explanation. I was also wondering about the effect brought out by the paper. Nevertheless it is a great masterpiece and demonstration. Thanks for your help!
Yes Daania, I did it with watercolor. It dried too, but was okay when I introduced wet colors. If you think it's too dry, you can make use of spray bottle before applying the next layer. 🤗
Hi Estefania Garcia Bartolo.. Yes you can. Have you tried painting over the underlayer with white Gouache / Tempera? I have done that a few times and was satisfied with the result. In that case I use a narrow tipped round brush (usually small size) to create white dots and thin lines to bring the illusion of reflection. But that is a time consuming effort... What I felt easy, is to use the dry brush technique. White Gouache or Tempera with the consistency of oil paint (very less water) in Dry brush can create a good texture tht match reflection. Some masters make use of masking fluid as well, before the wash (to utilise the whiteness of the paper). But I haven't tried that yet. You can make use of white Gouache/Tempera to paint over a layer for reflections. Try to use a fine tipped brush for good result. And, I think you should try dry brush sometimes.. it's not a big deal. Good Day 😊
Not even close? I always had a D in art class but given that you were working with watercolor this was imho pretty close to the original and i think that was amazing! In fact your video makes me think of buying a watercolor set for beginners and after... a long time try to work again with it.
Thanks a lot for your appreciation dear Arthur. In fact, artist grade watercolors does not work this way usually. They have fine powdered pigments and are transparent. I use Student grade water color for this kind of experiments. They are chalky and opaque (also cheap and affordable). Can do layers to some extend. It's risky but Sometimes it gives stunning results. Works good for me. 1 drawback. Colors doesn't stay fresh like this for ever. They fade gradually..
Wow beautiful painting with good info on brushes and colours used. I am a beginner so your paintings technique is a good start to learn from. Thanks for sharing your talent :)
Happy to hear that Lyd.. 🤗🤗 To be honest, I learned everything from other artists like you from youtube... It's nice to learn and share things we know 😄😄
Happened to me many times before. Mainly because of my rough handling of the paper. It may also happen if it is an old paper or if we use a hard brush.
@@cosmosart-brushandpaint4650 thank you dint think you would respond I tried your painting it gave me confidence to do more. I was so confused if I should buy 100 percent cotton but its expensive. I bought only 25 percent again. Like you said my brush is hard and also I handle the paper roughly. Im very new to watercolouring.
That's it. Be gentle with your paper and use a soft brush. I won't recommend purchasing expensive paper. It's not necessary for learning art. Many cheap brands are available For beginners like us. I use brustro the most. Their 100% cotton paper is cheap and have good quality. I am always happy to respond..🤗🤗 Thank you
