Greetings from Ireland, if you find showband singles give them a listen you'll not be disappointed. A showband had about 8 members including a full brass section . One side would be an Irish ballad and anything from Chuck Berry to the Beach Boys and all points in between would be on the other side with a powerhouse sound. You'll find tracks like the little old lady from Pasadena, Indian lake. Saturday night at the movies, little arrows, rock and roll music to name but a few. If you like the 1960s californian sound check out the Freshmen you'll enjoy also check out a group called the Movement and their take on Tell her a full on freakbeat/ northern soul stomper!! It used to be you could walk into any charity shop and find a few showband 45's for pennies, alas those days are gone!

..to belong to one certain generation and to have a chance to sit and listen to someone from "the ones who came before" , to learn about Their inspirations , Their heroes , what made Them stand up go : Woahhh -- Whats This !??... ...and then go on to make a completely new version of that - and also finding the even Newer versions of "that style" , seeing the thread across time connecting , moving , re-shaping , re- inspireing , and still -- and always - keeping the connection to where it all came from . .. in respect . . ...oh yeah ---- .. a sense of humour never really hurt either , ehh. 😁 Cheers 🍻

Man, I'm glad somebody finally posted this great ACL PBS show! I've been trying to get a copy from pbs , but had no luck. THANKS!! Wish there was an HD copy somewhere .
I was 11 years first hearing "Rock and Roll" and "Whole Lotta Love" ( were on a so called "Single" then). I was thinking "I want to spend my future live with them". Spoiler: I never met them. But somehow my wish came true, in an other way..
