Hello, welcome to the "Yelling Reb Reenacting" channel. You will be seeing American Civil War topics and also WW1 German stuff. I have an ever growing interest in history I hope you have an amazing day!
I’m glad you videoed me and the rest of my fellow Yanks coming from behind the hill This was probably our best reenactment of Cedar Creek ever I was with the 99th New York Volunteer Company D.
Is the flag faded or does the Virginia flag have a purple background..? Forgive me, as I'm Canadian and I live in Washington, and I've never been to Virginia... 😅
No problem I don’t think it’s necessarily either The background of the Virginia flag is blue This does look incredibly like purple Probably the maker using cheap ink or something All the other flags where like this also but a few houses down had a regular blue Virginia flag So my best guess is bad ink
Something I haven’t realized till now, is that the soldiers that survived this war and suffered from ptsd most likely had a different variety of the disorder. This would be a different kind of intensity than that of todays modern warfare. I wonder if it was more manageable for soldiers back then, and I wonder if advanced war ptsd will be worse
@@BeingVeganllc very possible that they had a different variant they even had their own name for ptsd “Soldiers Heart.” Even that they civil war did not have semi automatic weapons it was still absolutely hell a big of a enough cannon ball could wipe out 10-20 men look up on RU-vid “Free state of Jones Infantry March .” And just see when the officer gets hit by a cannon totally destroys his face. Also they didn’t have true medical knowledge back in the day so the pain of being cut open was definitely worse many soldiers would rather get a cannon ball to the face as a instant death than having a painful surgery without medical care many soldiers didn’t even survive post surgery
Hey! Looking forward to your content young Sir! 👍 Great to see new reenactors joining the hobby. Keep the great work and keep those videos coming! Best regards from Norway 😊
