My name is Pedro Molinari and I will be your host on Let's Talk Shotguns. Here we are gonna talk about the most common questions I get asked on a daily basis as a Premium Italian shotguns salesman.
I little background on me, for the past 5 years I've been working at one of the best shotgun shops in the country. Where I've learned quite a bit about these pieces of functional art that are fine European shotguns.
Here I hope to clarify a lot of the questions and misinformation that new and experienced shooters might have.
I hope you guys enjoy!

Thats correct. I mentioned the MXS in another video. The MXS is not a true representation in my opinion of a “true” Perazzi gun. Perazzis are knows for its incredible boss action where the MXS only uses the boss locking system.
Leaf springs have a faster release time therefore being a “crisper trigger” pull. Keep in mind that most people can not tell the difference, but it also has rebounding hammers which does not keep pressure on the firing pins after they have been fired
Thank you for the great input. I have 2 Perazzi’s and your explanation’s describe why I’m shooting my sporting clays gun for trap, and doing better, rather than my dedicated trap gun.
Thanks for the great information! Something I've been looking for is a video on what to do with detachable triggers. Some people say clean them, others say don't because you might accidentally get grease in the wrong spot. Premium guns often have this as a feature, but I can't find anything on the internet on what to do with a detachable trigger once you have one.
I recommend never taking them out unless necessary. Most guns do not have a detachable trigger and they work just fine without being lubricated all the time. The same goes for detachable trigger guns. Unless necessary due to rain, broken part or swapping triggers, i would not take them out
@LetsTalkShotguns Really enjoy your videos that full of really good information. Especially on the various Perazzi model differences you explained very well. Would love to see a comparison between High Tech 20XX and High Tech 3/X 12g. Looking forward to seeing more of your content. I am based out of the UK but would love to buy from your shop if I was in US. Thank You!
Great video Pedro, in the video your thumb close to your nose. I know a lot of people recommend to have 2 finger between your thumb and your nose( referring to length of pull) what your take on it?
Amazing Video. Thanks. We have a few Zoli's at the range here in Mumbai - India and I have to say they are built really well. But... For some strange reason the guns naturally pattern very high even at the flat setting of the adjustable comb. Is there some logic that Paulo discussed that he designed the guns to naturally shoot almost like a 70:30 or more?
Thank you for watching the video. Im not sure why your guns are shooting high. I few years ago i used a zoli as my main gun and was able to get it dialed to my 60/40 pattern. I think it would be a question of gun fit or maybe are you using an adjustable rib gun?
This video is perfect! I thought I had my tsk adjusted nicely but after a day of shooting my shoulder was swollen and bruised. After watching your video and adjusting like you did it feels so much more comfortable! I did notice my comb and the pins it sits on kept coming loose while shooting. Do you have a solution for that? Should I crank them super tight?
Im glad it was helpful. Most likely your comb is sitting too high on the posts. If thats the case you should purchase taller posts. Are you using washers under it so it offers support to the comb in case you have it lifted?
@@LetsTalkShotguns I had my comb sitting about half way up the posts maybe a little bit higher. But after adjusted the stock again I have the comb sitting right at the bottom of the posts. Going to try that shooting again and see how it all works out!
So because the S2000 is about twice the money as the BR110 the difference is in the engraving ? However, the S2000 and the BR240 are about the same cost the difference is the box lock action is that much more expensive to make and therefore that much more durable ? Thanks and make this a great day ! JZ
The BR240 has the same internal parts as the BR110. The shape of the receiver has changed a bit but internally it’s the same. They make a baseline gun and then variations in looks of the same gun. Watch the video on the BR110
Yet another highly enjoyable and informative video. The low key promotion here in the UK and the poor second hand values, almost certainly puts off many potential buyers and your video has convinced me that a Zoli is well worth considering.
I completely understand what you mean. It is very surprising to me how Zoli is not one of the top 3 most used guns out there. I truly believe that if it was more expensive, people would pay more attention to it. Thank you for watching the videos!
"Zoli holds the record for the strongest barrel-to-action fit of any kind of shotgun..." Ummm what? Is there proof of this somewhere? How was this tested and determined?
I think it would be a good idea to go with the oil finished wood then you can get a synthetic stock for hunting in the rain. That way you can have your cake and eat it too.
I agree 100%. I went to the nationals 3 years in a row and demo all of the different manufacturers. The Zoli is the best bang for the buck, the only other manufacture I would have considered was Kolar. That being said at the time the Kolar was almost double the price.I did finally get to meet Paolo and speak to him, he was so graces he spent at least 45 minutes with explaining all about the Zoli. After that I ended up buying a Zoli mid rib from Coles and after had a custom stock done by Coles. Flew down got fitted picked out the wood I wanted and back home in the same day.
I did the same thing and came to similar conclusions. Zoli has good bang for your buck. But Kolar is amazing and more expensive. Turns out, not much more expensive though. At least not now. The Z-Sport I was interested in was $9,600. Kolar is $13,000. I bought both but wound up getting rid of the Zoli. I prefer Kolar much more after having both for a year. Just fits me better and I like their overall approach more. Zoli still makes a good gun though.
A good friend of mind was riding on the back of the cart on our Sorting Clay's course when he dropped his oil finished Beretta 694 on gravel. I was able to remove all the dents (the longest was over an inch) with a little orange paint remover, and steam. I then applied boiled linseed oil, and you could not tell the stock had been damaged. Definitely a plus for oil finishes.
What state are y’all in u said u where in the US I can never anywhere with higher end guns like some of the stuff you have most places I go to I just see Brownings and sometimes Berettas
Very interesting! You have very good expertise of shotguns! I love Rizzini for quality, fineness, beauty. The pattern of my 2 Rizzini (BR110 sporter and Aurum) is very good. But, the open key (excuse my english) of the 2 guns seems to use fast. It goes to the left instead of tend to stay at right.
The open key, do you mean the top lever? If so, try closing it softly. It will help extend the life of your locking system by thousands of rounds. Think of it like the break pads in your car. Slam the breaks and it will wear out faster and uneven
I bought a Beretta A400 Upland in 20 gage a few months ago. I fell in love with it when I saw it but there was not one for me to try at the gun shop. The gun does not fit me well at all, in fact it sucks !! I like to shoot skeet and trap don't know if there is a cure or do I need to sell it and maybe buy a Silver Pigeon or something else. Thoughts?
Without seeing you in person for an actual fitting is nearly impossible to determine why it does not fit. But with shims adjusted it can be very close to the silver pigeon dimensions.
I just want to say how much I appreciate your videos. I got into sporting clays about a year and a half ago and I have decided its time to get a gun in the 3k price range. You have officially convinced me to drive up to your Maine store and more than likely get myself a 110. Thank you sir!
