So sad to see those wonderful old landmarks of my youth of this friendly, English cotton town. I know progress must be made for transport etc, but still sad to see the changing face, not always for the better, of the town. Each photo a trigger of nights out, meeting friends, courting my girl and many memories long forgotten. Thank you!

Me and my mate seemed into the Royal to see "The pit and the pendulum." As you look at the front it was the exit door on the left.

I was born in a streeet behind Thwaites brewery in 1951, coal fires, gas ceiling lights, loo in the back yard. As a kid I had to scrub the paving stones outside with vim scouring powder. No tele, no phone, no internet, just honest hardworking and friendly people. How I miss it!

I was born in Blackburn and still living here. The old Blackburn was better and it's a shame this and past clueless council have wiped out landmarks and historic streets.

I was born in Blackburn in 1962. Joined the army when I was 17 and have travelled and lived all over the world but would always come home to Blackburn when I could, its not what it was but for me, it is still my hometown.

Daisy lane at 6:12 is actually Daisy street. As a child we lived at No 108 ,second or third house on the right next to the white corner house. The side street on the right is/was Ross street. The street on the left ( I believe to be Napier street )led on to Moss street.

It actually looks to be Daisy Lane. Note the wall at the end and the 3 trees. Google map it

Great video enjoyed the nostalgia as was brought up in Blackburn in the 60s and 70s, maybe being on lockdown in Spain during the pandemic makes you miss the happy times more... stay safe everyone.

You probably wouldn't like to see it now pal. Probably best left as a nice memory. It's a hotbed for child grooming and about 3 weeks ago their was a drive by shooting on King Street. It's gone right down the pan.

This town I grew up in was a wonderful town in every way. but sadly, when I look at it today, I feel nothing but sadness, not because of the change in the towns structure, but the change in , culture, I cannot relate to the so called modern multi cultural system, for me, this is alien to my former town 's history.

Lived in Blackburn for 30 years, many fond memories, but we had to leave, always be "home" though, just not a nice place to live anymore. Best night out in the County, back in the day- down the "Barbary Coast".

Monster this country is a cancer ready to grow thanks to your people destroying to their own heritage now everything is imported you should b lucky what ethnic minorities bring to Blackburn if you take away the the food places there's nothing in Blackburn. "your living in the past your living far away" Blackburn is what it is because of the council it's a top place

Lovely old pics ! Makes me so sad and angry to see what Blackburn's become. I know you can't turn the clock back, but these old photos make me yearn for the past. All the little old streets and lovely, ordinary, decent people. All swept away and gone forever.

Lovely old photos of Blackburn. It's a crying shame what's happened to this town! The council should hang their heads in shame. They've swept all our heritage away and destroyed this town! Now all we have are old photographs of a once lovely, characterful old town.
