@@РазимГаббасов haha I wish! 😆 I think I’m a little too far from Russia to make the expenses reasonably affordable than in my home drop zone. But I would love to come visit and make a jump in Russia! Looks like the skies and views are awesome out there too!
I read somewhere that if you fall upside down, just relax and arch and u will automatically rotate the right way, and at 5:56 u did just that, and I got to see that its actually true. Taking aff in two weeks, cant wait!
I’ve been an overweight person for the majority of my adult life. However I’m getting my health under control and reaching goals I haven’t been able to meet for years. My goal by late this year or early next year the latest is to be down to between 210-220. When I reach this goal, I want to celebrate with going on my first skydive and would love to get licensed. I’ve been wanting to go skydiving for a very long time but my weight has been an issue. Your video gives me inspiration
Going through AFF was the best moment of my life. I wish I could forget how to skydive and learn it again. Thank you Skys the Limit in East Stroudsburg
Hey! In total I think I spent around 4,000. And for me it took about 3 weeks to get my license but I did it during the winter when we were only open on the weekend! I’ve seen people do it in a week and I’ve seen people do it over a couple months. It’s at your own pace.
Hi Katie. I started sitting at 30 jumps 25 yrs ago and I was told I should do big way belly first. As I look back now, although I love freefly (and wingsuiting), I understand and feel left out sometimes. Don't miss out on that Big Way Belly experience. mike D-33093
If you have your own gear, 300 jumps at $28/jump with your own gear is $8,400. Buy a rig and that total is like $15-16k. Good amount of money but, as an example, I'm still driving my '06 Camry that costs less than my rig and wear average clothes because I prioritize my money different. Presume Katie is similar.
And that's not factoring in big boogies/ events, where you pay an initial registration fee and jump as much as you can. Some boogies you can get in 20 jumps over a weekend, for $100 registration fee
Honestly cut down on a lot of other stuff I used to pay for until I started working in the industry. Now most of my jumps are work jumps! Just didn't show those on this vid!
@@msven Pretty much! Bought my own rig, started doing work jumps and don't spend money on stuff like clothes and things like that! Honestly would rather buy a van so I don't have to pay rent but thats a future me decision!
@katiebishop-manning8934 my next jump will be one more 360 then barrel rolls and loops. Unfortunately I live in northeast Nebraska so the weather isn't allowing many days there so I might not be able to keep my 30 day currency. Even though the drop zone is 2.5 hours away I still go every time I have a chance to jump. Made the trip yesterday but the fog and overcast never broke for the 2 hours they were calling for.
I really hope I can make my dream come true one day, and be up there solo among others, I lost a piece of my soul up there and I'm coming to find it! Awesome video!!
@@BurninatorTheTrogdor I'm wondering how many days the AFF course or A license takes. I'm from Vietnam, so I need to determine the duration required to complete this course. This information is essential for visa arrangements and booking accommodations.
@hiepnh610 sorry I was joking obviously. If you find a DZ with a lot of instructors and aren't super busy, you can breeze through in a week. Weather is also an issue. I would plan a couple weeks and ask the dz before you book.
Have you had any rough landings? I’ve done 3 jumps. First and third I flared too soon. Really messed my ankle up on the first one. Doing my fourth Sunday and I’m a bit nervous.
I actually fractured my tailbone on my first jump from flaring too soon! That made me stand up my landing on my third jump because I did not want to land like that again! Hope your jump on Sunday went well!
@@katiepeachbm it went much better thank you! When I did the second jump they didn’t have any 280 parachutes available. They gave me a 260. And even though that was the scariest jump (me and the two instructors started spinning-one instructor let go and put us into a hardcore spin in all directions. Then I lost that one. Protocol is pull immediately. I did but I was spinning. My lines tangled. I really thought this is how I die. But I got them untangled!). They gave me a 260 for that one. I felt so in control of that one. I slid in on my butt bcuz my ankle still hurt and I didn’t want them to know I was wearing a brace. But I slid on so smooth. From here on out I’m using the 260. Still scared though! It’ll be awhile before that goes away!
On my cat B jump, I got fixated on waiting for the instructor to tell me to flare on the radio, and I never heard it, so I ended up not flaring. I landed HARD on my butt and it caused a minor compression fracture in my L2 vertebrae. Watching this video to deal with the sky diving withdrawals while i wait to go back out after 6 weeks of healing lol @@jwprimetime9795
