Hello, I’ve always wondered; is it possible to stab someone with your fingers? I’ve been training for a month and have been using your videos to train. I’ve been able to stab a watermelon and go through it with my fingers, but is it possible to go through a person using these techniques? Love the videos and please keep sending us your amazing knowledge.

Thank you for the video. When in sanchin dachi, I have the feeling that the rotation of the front foot puts some stress on the knee of that leg. Are there any important points that you need to pay attention to in order to protect your knee? I know that you already made a video on basic stances. But this video does not cover sanchin dachi. Maybe this would be an interesting topic for the future ^^ Thank you so much for all your videos.They are a great source of inspiration.

I always love seeing youre unique methods for training martial minutia. very good stuff, I think ill add this into my training. On a different note, Im a new martial arts youtuber. My goal is to find a way to unite non practicing martial artists with people they can train with. Im wondering, what kind of mic are you using? it sounds great and it picks up really well without sounding too hollow or too flat. On still another note (related to my channel) How do you feel about martial artists of different backgrounds coming to train with you, if they arent interested in mastering your style of Karate? like, if they just had an appreciation for Karate, but had no interest in rank, only training, how would you feel about instructing them? I ask because that may be the case for some of my viewers at some point. I want to get a feel for how an Instructor and School Owner might take such a request. Love your content. usually quick and always informative. And on some often misunderstood, neglected ignored or forgotten topics. One such being your video on conditioning for punching. that was a great one. the striking the ground exercise is great. im mad I didnt think of it XD I always used a punching bag a lot, and had great arm conditioning. then when i stopped training for a bit and went back, I had to rebuild from basically scratch. If id seen your video, id have been able to keep my forearms tough lol. Im rambling now, but if youve got the time Id love your response. Cheers pal, keep kicking around!

Thank for the very kind words! As far as the video, this was just shot with my iPhone. I'm glad to know that the audio was decent quality. In regard to training with students outside my style, I'm always open to the idea. As long as a person comes to train with an open mind and ab empty cup, we can all learn from another. That philosophy has always worked for me.. Ultimately, I think a person will find it most beneficial to delve into one style that they especially enjoy to build a strong foundation and develop their skills, before investigating too many other systems. It can get complicated for students when the doctrine or training methods of various styles begin to conflict or contradict one another.

@@AuthenticKarateTCWestPeabody I couldnt have said it better myself. its the easier way to do it for most people. I say that as someone who went their own way and tried to learn enough to create their own style. i learned a lot, but it wouldve been quicker and easier, to just go finish my tkd blackbelt or go learn Goju Ryu Karate. Then I couldve branched out from there. Thats kinda what the people im seeing have done. they've spent time training hard or long or both, in one system, and have tried one or two others, and have come to that point where they see the boundaries between arts slipping away, and it makes training within them again seem confining.

Thank you master. Your kata tutorials were the restart of my martial arts journey 3 years ago and I've reached greater heights than I could dream of. Hell, I might have died a year ago when I was attacked by a mad boxer who attacked me in the shower and the blocking flow drill and uraken I learned from you put him down in one blow. I broke a tile with the toe kick a while ago and before your channel getting me to uechi ryu I didn't even know such a thing was possible. I wish to become a sensei one day and bring uechi back to my homeland.

Why is every dojo master or whatever have a beer belly? 😂 respect
@AuthenticKarateTCWestPeabody
@AuthenticKarateTCWestPeabody 3 месяца назад
Who said they were a "dojo master" anyway...that's hilarious! We have beer bellies because we drink a lot of good beverages after we train, and probably should do more cardio work. But seriously, do you really think every capable martial artist looks like a professional UFC fighter? I learned a LONG time ago that it's a mistake to judge a person's fighting skills by their physical appearance. It would be like judging a skateboarder's skill by how they dressed. 🛹 There's simply too many accomplished martial artists that are total badasses who look like they don't even train. Judge them at your own risk, Mr Miranda.

The modern variation, a good, dynamic stroke...The traditional Gyaku-Zuki I learned involved pivoting fully into Zenkutsu-Dachi, with the rear leg locked out and the rear foot flat and the rear hand going Hikite to the hip or high side, then back to Kiba-Dachi. Not criticizing, the modern technique is more practical. Subscribed!

Thanks for sharing your input and experience, sir! It's always appreciated here. The Okinawan system we use here doesn't use much hikite, although when it does, it's usually very subtle. Onegaishimasu!

Exactly! It's called a reverse punch because it's performed off the rear hip which offers the greater rotational power.
