Prior to passage of the New Jersey constitution in 1947, the New Jersey court system consisted of 17 separate courts. Each had its own standards and rules, and none answerable to another.
The constitution streamlined the Judiciary and reduced the number of courts to five.
The New Jersey court system includes the Supreme Court, which is considered the court of last resort; the Superior Court, or trial court, which includes the Appellate Division; the Tax Court and the municipal courts.
About 7 million cases are filed in the New Jersey Courts annually. More than 6 million of those cases are filed in the municipal courts.
The Chief Justice is Stuart Rabner. The Acting Administrator Director of the Courts is Judge Glenn A. Grant.
called the help desk and they are unprofessional do not help at all instead want to pass you to another "number" horrible Essex County needs to do better!
just one question... why in 2014 are you ticketing people from other states.... never mailing... or notifying in any way shape or form... then adding them to the pdps system without representation of any kind which is unconstitutional.... then force people to call a phone number that never answers during a virus only to answer over facebook... months later... "justice" seems pretty broken if anyone can give a name and no actual identifying information. this means three tickets went through two checks that were never balanced... I guess my name is Kyle winters [its not.... ] and I magically teleported into NJ at 141AM in 2014... with a black chevy... while I drive a sandrift [beige] buick regal.... thanks officer kulyk badge # 203 I really enjoyed this grievance.... was wonderful working with the dmv of a state I've never been to... that has power to do these amazing things....
