It's a wonderful place that I first discovered in 1999 on a hunting trip. Been there many times, and if I was younger, with a growing family I'd move there in a heart beat. Friendly folks, safe as can be, and just about every service you would ever need. I always enjoyed my time in Harvey and always stayed at the R&R. The Americana was another hunters favorite place to stay.
Harvey is a wonderful community. The people are just the best. I shall always recall the beautiful Singing Christmas Tree over at St. Cecilia's Church. If I remember correctly they were joined by First Lutheran in that wonderful Christmas program. One year St. Cecilia's even had a polka Mass, German supper, and, polka dance. People came from far and wide for that event. First Lutheran and St. Cecilia's even had a baseball game between the two congregations; and, outdoor picnic on one beautiful Sunday afternoon after services at both churches. The wonderful nuns were the cheerleaders for the big game that everyone enjoyed so very much. On side of their uniform the wonderful nuns had a L for the Lutherans when their team was up to bat; and, when the Catholics were up to bat the nuns turned around to show forth a big C!! Precious memories of life and time in the very special town of Harvey, North Dakota. I must also. write that when the Harvey Hornets were playing for the state football championship, St. Cecilia's Church rent a big modern bus to take all the young people/parents to the big game in Fargo. Yes, we won; and, everyone was so overjoyed and happy. In fact when the bus/team arrived back in Harvey the pastor of St. Cecilia's rang the church bells in joyful celebration as the entire community was so happy and proud. God bless the wonderful people of the Harvey community.
My late father was born here, joined the usaf and was sent to England where he met my mother and settled here in Oxford, really need to visit before I get to old.
