This. This is the moment where Portal 2 becomes one of the greatest video games of all time. Everyone and everything reaches their limits here. The subversion of expectation, The Fall of GLaDOS, The lore implications of everything happening here, The sheer power in the delivery of "I AM NOT! A! MORON!" I have no doubt in my mind that this is when Portal 2 became a truly legendary title. And the fact this scene was still affective to me, a first time player 13 years later, speaks volumes to Valve's sheer artistic craft for what they make
In french he doesn't say "I've done nothing but sacrifice" He says "Je me suis saigné aux quatre circuits" which is an hilarious pun on "saigner aux quatre veines"
Portal 2 single handedly made the trope where the villain gets stuck with the main character in a weaker form until they don't really hate each other anymore one of my favorite villain tropes ever😅
🤔Where is Gordon Freeman? Why wasn't he helping chell confront Wheatley and putting glados back on her body? Where was Gordon Freeman during the events of portal 2?🤨
My dialogue was a bit different. There was a part where a said „litle wheatly” and i can’t remember the rest. I just had the scene yesterday. Sadly a was spoiled the about the betrayal but this scene still gave me chills. Crazy how games from 10s years ago are better then amth like COD
I think Wheatley is one of the most sympathetic and iconic characters in the gaming world. When I played Portal 2 for the first time years ago, I really enjoyed Wheatley's British accent and his humor. I was really upset about this scene, but I quickly forgave him because he was suffering from power poisoning. I was so sad when he expressed his regret at the end of the game.
I don't know if you have noticed, but for some reason, the automatic captions censor the word "moron" even though it's not a curse word. Do you think maybe it's an unsure word? Because when you turn on Don't Show Potentially Innapropriate Words, it censors bad words and unsure words.
Wheatley really isn’t evil at his core, he was just put in an extremely fragile state mentally with such an overload of insane knowledge and power. Had chell and Glados reacted right, he likely would have remained that way, a genuinely good NON MORON. But glados being glados, she just had to ruin it. The facility would’ve blown up in the end anyways, but Wheatley had plans to just eject himself into the escape lift, and would have survived. This story could have gone very differently if glados hadn’t messed it up.
