In a YT world full of gear freaks and Uber slick productions,.. one thing rules above everything, someone showing his love and skill. F#ck all the ad collabs or new releases. I want someone like your best neighbor or friend doing his thing ONLY! Your vids shows the essence of producing, makes me wanna go back and buy stuff again 🤟
There aren't many videos about the monostation, very inspiring! thanks, its time to take it out of its box and give it some love mi my ms70, I love how detuning the vcos gives that chordy sound
I made one of these a while back and I must admit it was a bit hit-or miss - the biggest problem I had was hanging notes and unacceptable latency. I since made a USB MIDI host with an Arduino Pro Micro and a USB host board. These are incredibly cheap and easy to make - instant power on instead of waiting for Linux to boot on the Pi, zero latency, zero hanging notes. They work an absolute treat!
Very interesting! How many devices connected with Arduino Pro? The good things with the pi is you can connect lots of devices, now with 3 devices works very well, no USB noises/hum and almost 0 latency (didn't noticed weird behaviours for weeks)
Floyd Steinberg got me wanting to make one of these. As it is, I use a few different iconnectivity devices, and a SevillaSoft UHMR (which is rare, but really cool, has some unique features). I like having quite a few of those controller, including that small one and its bigger brother. I like to make them dedicated so I can just swap out the hardware rather than have to reflash them all the time. Midi Fighter Twister is my favorite, but I've got other ones too, including faderfox pc 12. I've been looking at the intech stuff recently, seems top notch and good price. Oh and older ones like Novation Zero are awesome, both mk1 and mk2, have actual real midi, lots of controls and sysex for older gear. For some of my more expensive gear, I like to say off the hardware on them as much as possible, and for some of my old gear, external controllers are the only viable option. Tx for the vid.
I want to do exactly this for my original circuit. Can you send NRPN control messages? I want to increase the delay times for some dubby jams. Nice work!
Great video. Also big fan ofmy circuit tracks and mono station and since I love 8bit analog I try to insert a TherapSID in the setup (to drive its 2 separated SID chips with the 2 Midi track of the circuit tracks.
Great video and i was looking into something like this because i own a sp 404 mk2 and a korg microkey air that only does midi over bluetooth and usb and sp doesnt take the midi when i connect it directly so i was indeed looking at them high priced boxes.... but maybe ill try a Pi first! Thanks for the video!
Novation’s gears are my favourites. Nice jam, It is a great setup.. you should get a summit and play a solo with a faaat lead on that. It is the best ever gear. ;)
this is sooo good! DJ Mode is killer!!!!! got on mkii here luckyly---this is the start of something new for sure! .... duuuudes its soo fun!!! i even didnt connected it with a midi controller!!!!!!! innnnsaaannee WELL DONE ROLAND!- it will gonna be a legend
PaulX! I spent a little time making ambient music for friends out of their favorite songs using this. The 30-minute version of Hey Jude was pretty cool.
Nice 1 fella, that little box sounds very sweet. Can you also send parameter changes to it via midi? Or indeed record the parameter changes you make on the device as midi in a DAW?
