I aim to produce contemporary versions of Christian hymns and songs that people can listen to, join in with, or perform for themselves. Where possible, I will upload both performance tracks and backing tracks - you're welcome to use any of them for your own public performances, practising, or just singing/playing along.
If you just want to listen to hymns (mostly instrumental versions), and maybe use them to help you get to sleep, then head over to the "Performances" playlist.
If you're a singer or solo instrumentalist who's looking for FREE backing tracks to use at home, at church, or anywhere else, then head over to the "Backing Tracks" playlist. If you'd like to use a track for your own performance, but it's not quite right for you (e.g. wrong key, wrong speed, don't want the soloists in it, etc.) then feel free to make suggestions in the comments under the track and I'll do what I can to accommodate your request.

Thanks for the feedback, although I really don’t know what you mean since this backing tracking track has no organ in it, nor anything organ-like, nor any solos. 🤷♂️
@asingersmentor Thanks very much for the feedback. Whilst I do whatever I want with the performance tracks, I find it very hard to predict what people might want from the backing tracks.. with solos, without solos, long intro, short intro, suited to singers or suited to instrumentalists, what pitch, whether to put in key changes, slow downs, pauses, and so many things. It’s really useful to get the feedback, thank you! I sometimes put repeater lines at the end, but maybe i should do it more often when the song merits it.
Hey I really enjoy your work! I am interested in making backing tracks like this. What version/package of Band in a box do you recommend to get nice sounding tracks like these?
Thanks Ian 🙂 in my particular situation, the key thing with band in a box is getting as many “realtracks” as possible (the micro-samples of real top musicians playing real instruments). To my ear, that’s the best possible result. I’m using the UltraPak+ version because i just want as much of the content as i can get (ie a wider choice of styles to pick from). However, it *might* be more cost effective to buy the lowest-price “Pro” version and just buy the realtracks packs that you want (i never did the math on that so can’t be sure if it’s more cost effective). There are several musical genres that i very rarely make use of (eg thrash metal) so that’s wasted money i suppose. As far as i know there’s no functional difference between the versions - just a matter of how much content is bundled with it (don’t quote me on that). Other than the realtracks (and realdrums) i like to have as many “realstyles” as poss, but these are only selections of realtracks that have been put together to make a particular style.. in truth, if you’re prepared to sit there and put different realtracks together by trial and error then you don’t really need realstyles (for me it’s just a time saver to have 6 or 7 thousand pre-assembled styles to pick from).
