Got shivers down my spine and watery eyes listening to this song by the fabulous John Denver. My God what a voice he had, and what a tragic end to this brilliant singers life. Loved the Cousteau programmes when I was younger as well, two legends now gone and greatly missed . God bless them both.
An outstanding post of a wonderful song and tribute to Jacques Cousteau. If possible, could his show return to television in syndication? How I remember it being part of a very good series of programs that made watching TV enjoyable, i.e., "The Wonderful World of Disney," The F.B.I." "The Ed Sullivan Show," etc. Those days are gone.
Jacques Cousteau was a unique person and a true pioneer of the ocean. You will never be forgotten along with your wonderful team of explorers. This song is a reminder for us all of the legacy this man left us.
Capt.Cousteau even back in the 70's knew where the world environment was headed by seeing the decline of the oceans eco systems and warned the world to be more conscious of the oceans and what human activity is doing to them. Capt. Cousteau's voice fell mostly on deaf ears and the consequences are upon us now.
Farley Mowat, a great Canadian naturalist and environmentalist once said, if I am correct, that if there were a button to push that would eradicate humankind from the planet, he would push it. Rather drastic but JYC would, I think, be dismayed at the condition of our home, the Earth., today. There is, I believe, a tipping point in the damage we do and once past there is no going back.
God, this video made me so sad. Both Jacques Cousteau and John Denver would be so disappointed, sad and angry at what people and have done to the oceans of this planet and to the beautiful flora and fauna that live in them.
Beautiful Vídeo of the Tribute to a great Ocean lover and Captain of The Calypso. Since i was a child my dad and I were truth Fans of the Adventures of the whole crue. Never missed a program and became an Ocean lover. John Denver Colors this wonderful tribute with he's song. Gray Production made with Love. Thank you very much!.
Beautiful tribute to Jacque Cousteau and the Calypso. Jacque was a role for all an inspiration. Grew up watching the ocean adventures series! Very educational compared to now. Great track from John Denver. Rest in Eternal Peace ❤😢
When Calypso was coming to Fl he was on the boat radio had a chance to talk with him ! Great man and to this day I still respect him and he truly taught me to respect the ocean! And we need to start cleaning up!
Im shocked it took me this long to find this. I never saw Mr. Keller as the Phantom, but ive seen POTO 130x around the globe. Mostly the US tour and Toronto companies. But also many times in NY. I have seen many MANY actors in various parts over the years. So many times that sometimes performances bleed together. But i can say without question my favourite pairing of managers will always be George Lee Andrews as Firmin and Jeff Keller as Andre. I also saw them after they swapped. Still great but ill always prefer that first pairing of them. I remember reading in the Playbill that Mr. Keller was the first American to play the Phantom on Broadway. I was always curious to hear this so thank you.
To sail on a dream on a crystal clear ocean To ride on the crest of a wild raging storm To work in the service of life and the living In search of the answers to questions unknown To be part of the movement and part of the growing Part of beginning to understand Aye, Calypso, the places you've been to The things that you've shown us The stories you tell Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit The men who have served you So long and so well Olole iiiii, ololo ululululu Olole iiii, ololo uu Like the dolphin who guides you You bring us beside you To light up the darkness and show us the way For though we are strangers in your silent world To live on the land, we must learn from the sea To be true as the tide And free as the wind-swell Joyful and loving in letting it be Aye, Calypso, the places you've been to The things that you've shown us The stories you tell Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit The men who have served you So long and so well Aye, Calypso, the places you've been to The things that you've shown us The stories you tell Aye, Calypso, I sing to your spirit The men who have served you So long and so well Olole iiiii, ololo ululululu Olole iiii, ololo uu Okee mensen, laat je horen! Olole iiiii, ololo ululululu Olole iiii, ololo uu
Mein Gott, was für ein wunderschöner Song von John Denver ❤. Auch ich habe alle Folgen von den Meeresforscher gesehen. Großartiger Mensch, ich denke gerne an die Beiden zurück. Das Video spricht mich an voll schön. 💕👍DANKE 🥀🥀🥀🥀🥀
I must apologise for finding this link so late since its release! I grew up as a kid in Australia always waiting for the next TV episode - it was a much watched viewing. My appreciation and education of the ocean etc as I'm sure for many viewers back then was a revelation, inspiring many to pursue a career as marine biologists or simply ardent advocates of marine conservation. One thing I'll never forget is simply hearing him narrate the episode - I knew as a young kid I was up for an hour of amazing wonder.
