I have not, in my 70 years, heard as interesting, fast, scary good, wild, kick-ass a bass solo as this one right here. Just watch her amble about the stage, lookin' all laid back, and yet blowing our minds! Damn...Rhonda Smith is tremendous!!
She’s got the gift. ~>If there’s a God then Rhonda Smith’s been worked through “it’s”art, and knows she’s been touched by it.. No compromise, no padding and obviously self taught. Damn she seriously good, and that was witness to Real Music. And Jeff Beck has always worked with a steady stream of damn fine female bassist and knows it. I’m off to the next one and that’s for sure!
This ist not meant as a harsh criticism or to start an argument, but why do you think it is necessary to rank bass players according to thier gender? Wouldn't "One of the best male bass player!" sound ridiculous to you, too? I'm a bass player too, but I seldom play my bass with my penis or my balls (and if I wouldn't publish it on RU-vid) and as far as I know Ms. Smith either doesn't use her genitals on the bass ... ;)
