1 million immigrants in the last 9 months... no space to rent even if you could afford it, folks that were offering airbnb can no longer (we wouldn't want to promote free enterprise in this country, or at least the Hotel and construction industry wouldn't), few can afford a home and in less than a year we'll see new Mortgage rules limiting mortgage loans to 4.5x yearly income... pop goes the big prices? Prices are good in Winnipeg compared to my City in Ontario... were probably averaging 200k higher, but selling is very slow.
Here in Winnipeg homes that are being sold at lower prices sell almost instantly, more expensive homes take a bit longer because the demand for those is lower. We aren’t quite “caught up” to the rest of Canada but Winnipegs estimate for population growth continues to expedite
I appreciate hustling in winnepeg man! I can't imagine toronto folks looking at -40, windy and super flat manitoba and sask and say, heck yeah let's go! yet alone those red necks from Alberta! Except for BC and Ontario, canada is pretty shit, anyone that comes here should get the passport and get the fuck out! Fuck toronto, it's not NYC, and FUCK BC it's not California. Heck California has bigger economy than the entire country of Canada. Cali where the smartest the richest and the most beautiful are concentrated! As I am writing this comment, I hope the recommendation engine takes note of this to know not to send stupid canada content down my path
I think your video is very educational. In general, Winnipeg (The Forks) is a great choice and does have about a million people living in it. Though it is not a mega region like Greater Toronto (GTA) or Greater Vancouver (The Lower Mainland) with millions of people living in it. With the price-wage index that comes with it. High rent low wages. Unlike Calgary and Edmonton Alberta cities that I like. These centres still have to deal with "boom and bust" cycles. As a result of the gas and oil industry which can be very stressful and problematic. Based on my observations, Winnipeg (The Forks) has done a good job with The Exchange District, The Forks, and other areas. Winnipeg is not inherently "woke," even though the city boasts a fantastic art and culture scene that is less woke and more artistic. I believe this is a result of Winnipeg (The Forks) being a blue-collar city at heart, and I like that. "Takin' Care of Business" means still diverse but a working-class type of a diverse city. I have excluded Montreal, Quebec, since it is hard to make a livelihood there if you do not speak core French. Laws pertaining to the French language, etc.
Thanks for your comment! One thing that all Winnipegers will agree on is that the whole city feels like a giant small town. The people are nice, we have the basic amenities and you will constantly be playing the game of who knows who
That’s so true! Anytime I go to another part of the city that is unfamiliar, I feel like I have left the city. I love west Fort Garry. Such a pretty area.
There is actually quite a large French demographic in Winnipeg. Areas such as St Boniface are primarily French and most of the street signs for example are either bilingual or just in French
@@MbisonBalrog Winnipeg has a deep history with the French settlers and in fact we even have a Holiday upcoming in February called Louis Riel day. He was instrumental in getting rights for the Red River Metis people in Manitoba
Haha! That’s totally true. In my experience when travelling and people find out I’m from Canada they rarely guess Montreal because I’m not speaking French

Yup. If you think that holding onto a stock or asset will pay off in the long run then you can hold onto it. Too many people never try to get out of a bad investment until it’s back to the price they bought because they don’t want to “lose money” but if another stock out performs in that same time span they are better off selling and reallocating
Hi! This is a very common thing to happen! It's called lifestyle creep. The best way to prevent it is to keep your living costs at a minimum and to have your expenses work independently from your income
