Welcome to the Hardcover Comic! Mike and I (Matt) have decided to take what we love (Hardcovers/Omnis) and make videos. We are also going to be doing interviews with other collectors, live streams of us discussing the world of hardcovers as well as collection videos!
There are SOOOO many Standard Size Hardcovers that don't exist in any other Hardcover format. Until last week, the 7 Premiere Editions that make up ASM Brand New Day Vol. 1 from issues 546 to 583 were the only HCs for those ASM issues. There's 31 total Hardcovers that collect 546 to 697. Issues 698 to 700 is where Superior Spider-Man begins and is collected in both the Superior Vol. 1 OHC and Omnibus. Of the remaining 114 issues after 583 to get Amazing up to issue 697, 22 of the 24 remaining Hardcovers are also standard size Premiere Editions. After the aforementioned BND Volume 1 Omnibus was delayed a second time, I grew impatient and decided to collect all 31 single hardcover volumes, and at reasonable prices. It's been a fun journey this last year plus. I've got 2 left to chase that I'm sure won't be out in Omnibus format for another couple of years. The great thing I've found about Premiere Edition / standard size HCs is they're so much easier to carry around. I almost always have one in my backpack in my car. I'm glad BND Vol. 1 is out in Omni format, finally. It's a GREAT read that wasn't ASM fan should get! I think all of these Premiere Editions were under valued. I just recently read The Unknown by Mark Waid. That came out in 2009. That was a good read. I'll get the follow-up eventually. The quality of binding is insane. The Killer books Published by Archaia are another great Eisner nominated standard size HC series. I've only got Vol. 5 so far. After the first 2 Volumes that collect issues 1-10, the rest are standalone stories. It did not continue in Ongoing format. Affairs Of The State, published by BOOM! Studios in 2020, is the 6th (though not numbered) and final volume. Marvel from 2006 to 2013 released 107 standard size volumes called Marvel Premiere Classic Edition Series. They are all great reads. They all collect between 5 and 9 issues. Speaking of standard size, I've been thinking of getting into bookbinding to bind some Trades that there are no HCs for.... specifically Agent Venom, Avenging Spider-Man, the Superior Spider-Man Companion, and Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man By PAD. With how long Marvel takes to release Omnibus & them nixing the OHC line, , I wish they'd just go back to releasing Premiere Edition Hardcovers with Trades coming out 6 months later - hence, Premiere Edition. I've noticed a lot of people enjoy collecting Trades, so why not go back to standard size?? 🤔 Nice video! Do another. There is a lot out there that is literally unknown to people.
@@CapitalDOOMI think I’m covered now talking to so many people that have read it. Just purchased Morrison batman 1-3 also. Will read fourth world first, jump to Batman vol 1 to get me to final crisis and then jump back to vol 2-3 Batman
I've read the Walking Dead Omnibus series physically and right now I'm halfway through vol 3. However i have considered on reading the rest of it and finally vol 4 on digital. Not to mention seems a little easier if not quicker reading them digitally.
I'm currently reading the Walking Dead Omnibus books. I'm halfway through the series. American vampire and Locke and Key are next. Omnibus forms of course.
