Hello, I'm Dev... age 63+ and solo traveler. If you are age 50+, couple, small group or solo, and interested in travel, Dev's Destinations is YOUR destination! Learn interesting facts and travel tips. Not an active traveler? No problem! Dev's Destinations is for anyone who loves learning about our world.
Join me and see popular, also curious destinations PLUS places which our media and government FORBID us to visit.
My videos were originally made for my dearest friend who is medically unable to travel, plus my closest family and friends in the USA and Canada. So, my videos are unique because I narrate the places to my loved ones back home with accuracy and honesty: Informative, engaging, succinct; unbiased and enlightening. Not sponsored & not AI generated.
Unlike other travel videos, which promote or sensationalize the location or the presenter, Dev's Destinations videos are sincere and for YOU, the viewer. New travel videos posted regularly.
Thanks for the video. When you enter from Switzerland, there isn't actually a border control, only from Austria, as LIE is not a member of the EU. Beautiful little gem of a country.
You are correct. As you saw from my video, I entered from Switzerland and took the bridge (no border control) and crossed the Rhine river to enter Lichtenstein. Thanks for your comment. :) Dev
Alsatian is a German dialect that is the Alsace's traditional language. However, not everyone in the Alsace speaks Alsatian, especially the younger generations, whereas everyone obviously speaks French. This being said, Strasbourg and the Alsace are a beautiful region where the French and Germanic cultures meet and mix. Just like Alsatian food, the successful marriage of the generosity of German food and the refinement of French cuisine.
Howdy! I am considering crossing from Tallin Estonia to St Petersburg via bus. I am US passport holder, and hopefully no issue. How long did custom officers held your passport? Thanks!
Hi. Unfortunately, I believe that both Estonia and Finland have closed their borders with Russia. You would have to enter Russia from a country that is friendly with them such as Turkey. Such is the government controlled world we live in. I enjoyed my experiences with the Estonian people and also the Russian people that I met. Please see my video on Tallinn Estonia. Hopefully they can work something out. I hope you find a way to get to St Petersburg. Thanks for your question and thanks for watching.
2:03...yes ,finally someone from the USA who seems to notice IMPORTANT DETAILS about Serbia, about people...etc....Whoever respects us, we respect him even more...
Summers are not pleasant at all, I wish they were 🙁. Temperatures are often above 35 and it’s quite humid actually. Even today it was 30 degrees and humid, and it’s still March ! Maybe it’s more felt here where I live in New Belgrade, as it used to be a swamp
Thank you for sharing. I've been there via cruise in 2022/2023, and I am coming back again. Then I'll fly from Athens to Sofia Bulgaria to visit more of the Balkans countries to add to my short list of 60-countries. I'll be getting off from the new Celebrity Ascent then take the bus/metro to Airport. Again, thanks and safe travels!
You can take a public bus (watch my video near the end for the bus numbers) to get from the metro station to the dock, or you can take a taxi. Ask the price first before getting into a taxi. You can also take an Uber. Thank you for your question and thanks for watching. Dev
Thank you for your video. Perfect timing for me. I'm flying to Athens April 2024. I want to know the best way to the port from the airport and the cost. I'm going solo and going on celebrity infinity cruise, best of Greece.
Thanks for you question. First, unlike most other travel channels on RU-vid, mine is not AI-generated, nor sponsored by a travel company which sensationalizes a place and tells the viewer "you must come here". My videos are real ... me walking around narrating what I'm seeing and learning (to my loved ones back home) ... as it says on my description. So you, the viewer are better informed if you come here, and better informed if you just want to learn about the place and not come here. To directly answer your question... what I liked (personally) about Phnom Penh is how different the culture and food is from large cities in Vietnam and Laos, which are two neighboring countries. I hope you subscribe to my channel. I post 2-3 new travel videos every week. Dev.
We ❤ Evzones!!! They are really special, loyal to their country and totally focused on their military service, something which demands great mental and physical power. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ May they always fulfil their dreams and goals...! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
looking forward to part 3 and 4. I'm going late April and you might of saved me some money on the tickets for things to do. It looks like you can see most things from the other side of the fences and as you say if you only get to see a few descriptive guides the other side of the fences. If your videos and not complete would you advise best things to spend your money on and what to avoid. Thanks
Hi Wayne: Glad I could help. My 2 remaining videos (3 and 4) are coming March 5 and March 12. March 12 will be specially good for you as it gives cost savings tips about Greek island cruises. I hope you subscribed to my channel and post likes. I post 3 new travel videos each week. Smiles. Dev
Thank you for your comment. I hope you enjoy my videos, and if you do, I hope you subscribe to my channel. I post 3 new travel videos each week. :) Dev
Thank you for your comment. No, I'm not from Kosovo. I'm from North America. I hope you enjoy my videos, and if you do, I hope you subscribe to my channel. I post 3 new travel videos each week. :) Dev
Thank you. Yes - I did. I hope you enjoy my travel videos. I post 3 new travel videos each week from different destinations. I hope to be back in Kuala Lumpur someday soon. I liked it there. :) Dev
At 1:35 where you stopped by the roadside of Jalan Parlimen to show the KL Tower, the Petronas Twin Towers, the Merdeka 118, across the road on your right is one of the way, free entrance into the KL Botanical Garden, and just behind you is a turning to the national monument and sculpture from Asean countries, just minutes away from the main road on Persiaran Sultan Salahuddin.
Just a little info, at the Dataran Merdeka, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building was the administration office of the British before Malaya (now Malaysia) gained independence in 1957.
Going to the Godzilla hotel was on my bucket list. It was unfortunately that the terrace deck was closed during my visit. I think it was safety reason. I will try again on my next visit.
The palace you showed is the "old" palace. It has been left unattended for few years now.The new ones are few kilometers away. There are plans (not really sure though) to turn the old palace into a muzeum. The prime minister's official residence is in Putrajaya, about 45 minutes drive out of KL.
Thank you for the information. I knew I was lost. You will see (briefly) the view of the new palace in my video 3 from Malaysia - so please stay tuned. :) Dev
