Again, no ducking drives me insane (not literally lol). At least it has some EQ. So far nothing has sounded better to me than Soundtoys superplate, nothing. Full EQ and controllable ducking, gorgeous decay. Gorgeous. I like Black Rooster, but I am 50/50 on this one, I am not sure I quite like the sound of the decay, and drums to me is always the perfect place to test if a plate reverb plugin is really very good or just another reverb plugin.
It always warms my heart to see another Pro Tools user who obviously genuinely likes the program as I myself do. May I give some sincere advise that I mean no offense by? That initial guitar is really nasty, it has some genuinely painful resonance, and I think you really need something like Oeksound Soothe or MTM Reso on that. You did make it sound better for sure though, but that sort of sound needs more precision IMO. What would also be really good when testing any EQ or dynamics, or distortion plugin is to show us the mixer more clearly and highlighting which track it is on, so we can more easily follow and make sure the A/B comparisons with the plugin on/off are level matched. Cheers!
I don´t care about everything else, but you didn´t say anything about how it sounds! Don´t buy this crap! It distorts so easy, when you sing loud it distorts horribly, no volume at all! It clips all the time! I waste of time and money
Oh wow! maybe you got a bad unit? I've used it on many gigs, always try to ask the musicians how their ears were and never had a complaint when using BCPM A-2. Maybe your send to it could have been too hot? I know it can be easy to distort if you overdrive the input on these
Mixed the session, looked awesome on everything, nothing showing up. Saw this video, and thought;" Damn, why didnt i use that ", somehow i already knew, it would go red before even using it. Sorry used it wrong; Looks great
thanks for the feedback! I'm always wanting to know how to streamline the videos. Never had feedback on the commentary so knowing it's not needed/wanted is good.
Great advice, thank you! I was curious what application you are using to edit podcasts. Also, if someone were just getting started on learning to do what you do, do you have any suggestions on which applications to use either free or on a tight budget?
Oh good question! So I am using Pro Tools BUT that is because I use it for many pro audio mixes. I’ll try to make a video of some good programs to use to edit podcasts but for now, the best free options would be GarageBand if you use a Mac. If you’re on PC there’s Cakewalk by Bandlab. Or you could download DaVinci Resolve and use the audio editing software in that. All 3 work well and should be free!
Also correct! With these lower end DI boxes, you can open them up and see the wiring. Most of the time the input and output jacks are directly connected. I'm sure there is something to be said for the order of connections reaching the output for the line level, but on a di box like this I doubt it makes a difference.
Hi! Power supply on my right speaker has died. I took it to a tech guy to see what's up and he told me that he can't fix and that we need to change the whole board so I'm searching for power supply boards online with no luck and decided to get a cheap speaker from ebay only for the power supply board. What I wanted to ask are the boards for the left and right speaker identical and can the one from the right be changed for the one from the left speaker? Guess they are but still wanted to check first, thanks.
as long as it's the same speaker with the same specs I see no reason why it would not work. The only possibility is with some designated left and right speakers the layout can be mirrored for each speaker. But if the 2 speakers are identical and the only designation of left vs right is the physical placement, then there should be no issue. hope this helps!
@@TopmopProductions Yes, I'm talking about Alesis M1Mk2 active, the same ones from the video, the mirrored layout is the thing I'm concerned about, the specs should be the same besides that. I found the left speaker on Ebay so I'm thinking about getting it for the power supply board only...
I completely LOVE their Delay 3000 plugin. It's a model of the Roland SDE 3000. I had one of those back in the day of guitar rack wars. It was great back then. And the model does what that delay did - plus it has more stuff! The SDE 3000 was in all the big LA studios back then too. It was the delay used on a lot of vocals. Watch for the sales. It goes on sale a few times a year.
hi use wave lab 6 i was a fee software i had for a long time alot of the software has it all in now i do have a pro VU METER thar is tuned to wave lab i find the computer now take the jazz out of the sound
Guitar Center sent me 8" monitors in one of those extra thin cardboard boxes with one thin layer of the tiny bubblewrap around them. they were bashed to smitherines and the shipping company had wrapped tons of tape around it to hold it together. they were wet, cracked. falling apart. One of them made a loud hum, and the other one did nothing. they didn't even send the power cords. It took me over a month to get a refund and it was like 30 emails and me talking to a lawyer. I'm the chillest dude in the world. i sent them photos 5 min. after they arrived. I feel determined to fix these and write "fuck guitar center forever" on the side.
I came across your channel while looking for information about the Renaissance Reverb. I know that some very well known EDM mixers like Dave Darlington use it... but with the large selection of very good reverbs we currently have, the question is what is special about the RVerb? Is it perhaps more comparable to the rather old ArtsAcoustic Reverb? (a bit grainy but excellent for very long reverb tails)
personally what draws me to it is the versatility with the different reverb sounds. Between the Rverb itself and an eq I feel like I can shape whatever reverb sound I want out of it. It won't always be the best for each type of reverb (personally I like the Black Rooster Audio Ro-140 plate reverb over the Rverb plate) but I think if I only had one reverb plugin on hand it would be this one.
Hi! Drum enthuasiast here! I have a request for you. Kindly do the drum challenge (bass drum pedal) using both male footwear and female footwear like high heels, ballet flats, female sandals, etc. please. Thank you.
love the mic! it's super fun to try on different sources. Definitely an extremely sensitive mic that could use a pad but when done right you'll love it
you have to put it on a stereo channel and it should automatically come up in the stereo format. It won't be in the stereo mode on a mono channel. Hope that helps!
Happened to come across this EQ forgetting that I had it. I agree it does sound fantastic. Your video was very helpful in speeding up my learning curve with it. Thank you.
