Welcome to Happily Organized Chaos, where I share my journey of minimizing, decluttering and simplifying our home.
My name is Jen and I work outside the home as a part time teacher but still love to share as much as I can of our daily lives here on RU-vid.

My life is full of many blessings, two of them being my amazing children, Connor and Madeline. Our life is very busy and chaotic, between work, school and extracurricular activities, I try to stay as organized as possible.
Please join us as I try to create in organized home that is most of the time pretty chaotic :)
Hope all is good with you. Your content is incredible, but the growth of your channel is lagging. It needs customization (setup, optimize with high-quality SEO), especially regarding SEO. Are you interested in discussing your channel?
I just found your channel so I realize you might be done with this room by now. But I think I would tackle a room like this with the items that make biggest impact. Hate to say but the Christmas tree and wall stuff needs to go. Once the room looks less like your daughters room and more like your office I think it can help you find momentum. 😊
As they say, it gets worse before it gets better. Last video, things blew up a bit but it got much tidier this time around. I don't blame you for not using Dana K White's no-mess method because taking things down to the basement from all the way upstairs is no bueno, especially if your dog Cooper gets upset every time you go down there and leave again.
Great work! One suggestion - could the printer go on one of the book shelves instead of having its own desk and chair? That would free up more floor space in the room.
The room looks great! It’s really coming together for you. Pretty soon you can start the fun parts! Can’t wait to see the new desk and how you decorate. Thank you for still going through your thought process. I am sorry it makes it harder for you though. For me hearing why you may be keeping or feel it’s time to let go of an item helps me make some better decisions in my own thought processes when I am decluttering an area. I like watching the process, but I like hearing the why too as then I look at my items differently too. So, I appreciate that you are doing that.
Hi Jen, really good to see you, another great video, thank you. can't wait to see your new desk, your plans for the room sound great. I hope you include us in the room makeover. hope to see you soon.😄
Hello Jen! You really did so much decluttering today! Very impressed, making very quick decisions. The before and after is amazing! I thought you did the right amount of talking. It helps us who are watching, to see the decision making process and also the satisfaction of seeing all that you decluttered gathered in the kitchen ready to go out of the house. I look forward to the organizing and decorating! 😊
After seeing your community post, I wasn't really expecting a video from you until school was out so I'm late to the party! This was a difficult declutter with a lot of little items (many of which required their owner's input) so don't be hard on yourself for not getting any further. It's best to stop when that decision fatigue sets in. Anyway, it was nice to see you again and your hair is looking so pretty!
Maybe too late for suggestionssince this video is a 2 months old, but I would move the board games to the hallway and use the walls to hang or display more of your favourite keepsakes - like lowering that shelf and putting your Disney VHS on it. Put the seasonal storage bins out of sight under the stairs.
She’s not always sleeping here, she just wants to have the choice 😊She mentioned it to me, that she’d like to sleep in her old bed again. She does have her own room (which she loves) 💜 Thanks for watching!
I love your decluttering videos, they really are so motivating and I enjoy hearing your thought process, it does help. I am tired of moving things (junk) from one spot to another without actually dealing with it. I am in Michigan and next week is supposed to be a scorcher - near 100 SO I plan on doing a lot of decluttering and organizing - I already have a bag full of donations so that is a step in the right direction!
Thanks for the suggestion but honestly don’t think I can drink more water 😂I already drink close to 4 litres a day 😊 I think the sounds you are hearing are the transitions from editing the clips. Have a great day 😊
I love hearing you talk through your decisions, while I think we process things differently I really appreciate listening to how your brain works 😍Sometimes when I have to make those hard decisions what helps me is if its not a "definite Yes" I would go out now to buy them again I make it a "no" and declutter it. I love your channel and love your progress! Keep going friend 😍
Thank you Becky. It's like you are here with me and listening to me as I drove to work this morning..lol I was thinking I need to get back to filming, life has been crazy and I've paused decluttering for a bit but it is really my passion to live more intentionally and simple. I hope to be back to filming soon!
Girl. I run multiple buy nothing groups in our area. I’ve created rules and guidelines and ways to cut down on no shows. Rule 1 is SET A TIME that you feel comfortable with. If they don’t show up, go on to the next person. We also issue strikes/ suspensions for no shows.
I got rid of all the vhs Disney of my kid’s as we have no means of playing them any longer ..... nor does anyone else I know (and the charity shops won’t take them, presumably because of that) so sad all that plastic went to landfill
Great job. As an organizer, save all of your clear bins always. Try to only use clear so u can see everything & know what is is instead of searching for things. Time is precious
I'm not binge watching you. I just saw ur channel. BTW great job & talking through ur stuff. I saw in a video ur luggage from ur bedroom u can put it in the downstairs closet with the wires behind the chairs u put in there. Keep it up. Great job
the hallway looks so much better, imagine what it would look like if you could find another home for everything else that is in there. love your sentimental artwork, I think I would move that to your office. thanks for sharing, really enjoy your videos. 🥳
Jen! What wonderful progress you have made in this hallway! I remember you tackling this hallway many times in past videos, and this is by far the most impressive! As you said, so many options to consider for organizing seasonal items, etc… Ideally, whatever you decide to do in the hallway, hopefully it would not look cluttered. Curious, when board games are being played, are they used typically in the basement, the main level or all the way upstairs? I’m wondering if they could be relocated to that level and free up space under the stairs for the seasonal items? It’s got to feel amazing what you accomplished! ❤😊
Yes! I have another video that should be out next week, school just got crazy busy with parent teacher conferences and extra meetings! It’ll be up next Friday! Thanks so much for watching 💜
Do they actually get snow days? Here if school gets called for snow they still have lessons/homework online by 10am that they just have to teach themselves basically.
Hey Jen My daughter who is 35 yrs old kept all of her American Girl dolls and items, (we were told they are highly collectible), and now her daughters are playing with them. Do you and your daughter plan to do the same? 😊
You've done such a great job with your new space! I would consider keeping the coat rack. It would be nice for guests to use for their clothes/coats or towels. In my house we have one really small bathroom, and the coat rack could be used for the guests to hang any bathroom towels they'd like to use again. Just an idea. Also, when you know a guest is coming, you could temporarily clear the top of the small desk for them to set their suitcase on. Can't wait to see the total transformation of the space!!!
