Ingenious mechanism!! My mother actually had one of the originals when she was a little girl!! It's a mini record player, that's awesome!!! Imagine a much bigger version of the See 'N Say that would be capable of playing REAL vinyl records, you could be granted the ability to select the song you wish to play!!! But of course, vinyl records were two sided, therefore when you get to the end of one side, you flip it over and play the other side. As such, you need to be able to open the toy at will to either flip the record over or swap it out for another record! This is ingenious!!!
Sorry for the distraction. It is actually a fake rattle snake I made with the rattle I found on a dead rattle snake that is moved by a solar operated piece of junk I had and was going to throw away but then thought it would be fun to make that with it instead.
Can a gas turbine run at low rpm lets say 2000/5000 rpm without statorblades? My home made gas turbine doesnt have statorblades so i dont know if it wil run.
It is connected with a shaft that goes through the engine. It must be started by another engine with compressed air or by an external compressor. Then it turns itself with the fuel it burns.
Here is another video of someone starting a jet engine. If a motor were used, it would be to replace the compressor and get the engine turning before they ignite the fuel.
I imagine that there can be some times, but I believe most of them use compressed air from a compressor or air from another engine to get then running.

Sounds like the record is not in line with the arrow. I remember as a kid having fun barely bumping it at the right time to make it jump track and do that on purpose. 🙂
Awesome teardown. Can you please do a teardown of the vintage mickey mouse talking phone. I bet it will be the same so please do a non destructive teardown like put it back together when finished.
I have not seen the Mickey Mouse talking phone but after doing a quick Google search, all of them I can see have batteries so I would assume they just use a speaker. I would love to do a video of one but I don't have one to show. I was fixing the one I did this video of for a friend and thought it would be nice to do a video while I was at it. I am not sure exactly which one you are talking about, all of them I saw when doing a quick google search seemed to have batteries and electric buttons. I guess I am not sure exactly how, but is there any way for you to clarify exactly which one you are referring to?
Sorry it took so long to reply, if the sting is cut it may spin for a little bit in the center of the record, probably making no sound. But after that the toy will be broken and do nothing because the string is necessary to pull the spring that makes it turn. So if there is no string to wind the spring it will quickly unwind any extra spring the string may have been holding then it will be broken.
@@beverlykimball142 You could remove the record or needle probably. But then what would be the point of the toy... a child’s version of a slot machine maybe. 😄
