Awesome video! Loved how the 3 of you worked together. The whole was really inspiring! Rick you have really good content; always a pleasure to watch your videos, they’re Netflix worthy!!
@@Pearl3Drummer Everything in this video is real. If you live in a place where slop is dragged into your garage pretty much half the year, you’re going to have to deal with it.
@@Pearl3Drummer This video may help you decide. Personally, it works for me but it is not something that works for everyone. It’s a big investment for sure, so good to learn as much as you can. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kFdfzO-9o7I.htmlsi=x6hyFbMZNyXqmiZU
In all honesty, it has been an amazing addition to my garage (and life). It all depends on what matters to you and what conditions you are up against, but Swisstrax has been one of my better decisions.
@@JC-3410 I wish I had an answer for you. I have only used a handful of Rinseless washes. I do hear people raving about Absolute. I’m sure someone has done a comparison.
I had no idea that I would one day be rubbing shoulders with industry people. People can say what they want about social media, but it has been an absolute blast and I can't thank my viewers enough for making this all possible.
@@RADGarage it does bring people together and like anything it’s what u choose to make of it! So glad u had that opportunity and others from this!! It’s the coolest part is seeing our fav channels in one place !!
I learned a lot from my fellow creators. It did make a bit jealous that they are able to pursue their content creation on a more full-time basis. I'd be curious to see how much I could grow my channel if I had a year off my full-time work.
What do you mean? We were all mic'd up, but there was some background noise that somewhat compromised the audio quality. There was a big air conditioner operating in the background.
@@kenmartin756 That is Yvan’s own brainchild. He was rolling around in that thing like a maniac. I think he’s going to bring it to market at some point.
Hey Rick, I'm sooo glad your an open minded person (I knew it for a while watching your vids wich I DEEPLY enjoy!) and trusted the great crew From DIY Detail and the rinsless technology, for me it's a big deal, mostly I get light dust, some light grime and busting out everything is VERY time consuming not to mention a bit expensive per wash (I unfortunately don't have a sweet setup yet 😔) i wash my car weekly now and thanks to rinsless my car is constantly EVERY DAY clean, but still I do a bug foam everything wash once a month, the cracks and crevices need it from time to time. Also man 18:35 that head shake,,man this is impressive" got me, sitting here and laughing a bit (ok a LOT 🤣) Cheers from Poland you Scorsese unit of a man!
@@RADGarage I nearly bought a BMW 8 series in Frozen Tanzanite Blue until I was told the above. I couldn't justify spending the extra money on the paint and then PPF. If my circumstances change, I would buy it as I love some of the frozen colours. Or if they manage to release frozen/matte that scratches can be polished out of. I loved the video. It's my 3rd time watching it since being uploaded.
Oh, there is no denying how beautiful these "frozen" colours are. Thanks for being such a fan of this project. It was really great to have my friend Justin join me on this one. We had a great couple of days!
It might be overkill, but i do. Thinking mainly is releasing any dirt and debris from your wash media with more certainty. I even use it in my wheel bucket.
I love foam too!!! I will put rinseless in a foam cannon from time to time-just for the experience of the foam cannon-it’s not the same but it suffices…although don’t tell Yvan that…he’d cringe 😬 lol great video!!!!
@@DetailsNMe The thing I appreciate most about Yvan and his approach, is he doesn’t insist people do things his way. He has his processes, but he has never criticized or put my way down. He just gives people food for thought.
Thanks. It was a lot of fun to be a part of a group project for once. Not my usual style of video, but this channel has always been about sharing my detailing and garage antics, so that's what I did.
Very good video Rick! Loved the unsure look on your face you presented a couple of times lol. Hope you enjoyed the experience with the rinseless wash. I just washed my wife’s car with that product for the first time and really enjoyed it. And I’m like you are…I love my foam cannon and spraying foam. Thank you again for all you do! Love your content!
I get the process, but I like my way better. That said, I may have to give this a shot when the conditions are right. It is a bit much using a full cannon of foam and bucket of soapy when the car has nothing more than a layer of dust on it.
Each one of these videos have been so enjoyable Rick. Definitely appreciate all the content created by all of you. Hope you and everyone out their has a great weekend.
Holy cow I didn’t think I would get a response. I am in Orange County California you guys need to visit. What a great surprise getting a response 😊 you guys really inspire me. Thanks so much for all you do.
Hey man, I am just a one-man-operation, but I do my best to respond to each and every comment left on my channel. If you are interested in a detailing "keg" I would highly suggest reaching out to my friends at www.detailkegs.com. I don't have any discount code or affiliate link, but tell them Rick from RAD Garage referred you and I bet they will give you some RAD service! 🤘
Love DIYs rinse less wash but to be honest I’ve never tried it to wash my car yet, i do use for door jams though, I use it wiping down my interior and all through my house, awesome product, great video Rick 👍😁
Sounds like we are both in the same boat. I have experimented with a few rinseless washes over the years, but I tend to stick with my bread and butter foam/mitt method. I'll see about integrating this method into my process if and when the timing is right.
Rinseless is the way to go for me and has been for the last couple years! Once you start doing it and realize how much easier it is you will do it more often. It was great learning weekend and so much fun.
That weekend went by way too fast. The best part was the livestream. Thanks again for initiating that. As for Rinseless, I learned a lot about the ways in which it can be completed and I will have to see where it "emotionally" fits in with what I do. I get Yvan's point about if you are doing this professionally, but for me, the optics of a full foam and mitt wash still captivate me and even with all my video-making experience, I have yet to find a way to make a sponge look sexy!
What should we do first, Rick ? "FOAM, I like Foam" 🤣🤣🤣 That made me laugh ! Jokes aside, loved to see you ready to learn new detailing techniques. Everyone knows we do learn everyday, either from elder or younger. That could be a good definition of humility to me, to be honest. I strongly believe good people attract good people and I am so happy and proud to be a "member" of this amazing RU-vid channel 😉. Always a pleasure when the bell rings for new content, on YT and Instagram (yeah, I finally joined 😁) Stay RAD my friend Gregg
Haha. We like what we like. I learned a lot from this project and it will be interesting to see if any of these methods creep into my workflow. Still, having an opportunity to learn from a man that has been doing this for decades was an amazing experience and I learned so much. Great to see you on Instagram. I like it so much more than Facebook.
I Hate Waist! The multi-use MF Towels is my preference, because any left over "Clean" solution will be used next time. With 1 gallon of mix, you can get multiple washes out of the solution. Since your dipping the dirty sponge back into solution, it is only good for 1 wash, in my opinion. For me, "It's All About the Bang for the Buck".
I see your point about maintaining a perfectly clean wash bucket. If you are conducting washes on a regular basis, being smart about your resources is important. I think I may be on the other spectrum of the "bang for the buck" strategy. I guess we all have our lanes. Thanks for stopping by, my friend. I always appreciate your feedback and insights.
@@RADGarage With your time restraints, a rinseless is the way to go. I too experience harsh winters here in the Midwest, my cars will get once a week baths in my garage during the winter months. I am unable to use a hose then, so rinseless is a great alternative.
Hey Yvan are we supposed to flip the towel and use all 4 sides while decontaminating a vehicle? I thought we just use 1 side per vehicle similar to the WSR process but that’s what I took from this section 23:20
I'm very much the same. Besides being able to dry after the contact wash with the sponge, I don't see a huge savings in time. But, I have to be fair, and try the method out a few times. Maybe there's little things I can incorporate into my preferred routine. Time will tell.
Man was this entertaining to watch! It was like you guys were learning a whole new trade at some points 😂. Too funny considering you guys are some of the best out there
I liked being taken on a educational journey. Unlike my actual university experience, I found I was understanding these lessons and having a good time!
You can foam incredible suds first to have that foam satisfaction. Rinse off. Then use the rinseless wash method. Wheels and tires just use the traditional method. Personal , I just use the rinseless as a pre treat. Then rinse off with a hose. Then proceed with the rinseless method. Saves a lot on water and time.
@@rayvalero8580 It’s good to have options. It will be interesting to see what (if any) changes come to my process. I have a beautiful Porsche in the garage and I’m currently running through my options.
That's a great video. I really like videos like this. You have a lot of experience in car detailing. I wanted to ask you, do you consider this kind of removal of metal flecks from the car body safe for the paint? I wanted to clean my car, but I don't have the opportunity to polish it afterwards.
@@vadimyevdokymov7216 Thanks for watching and for the question. I do believe that the correct and proper usage of the DIY Detail perforated synthetic clay towel and their Iron Remover is a safe and efficient way of decontaminating the paint. I have done it many times and mostly followed with a polish, but I have also used this method to rejuvenate my ceramic coating. You just have to quarter the towel and be thoughtful in your approach.
I like to start by using the foam cannon and incredible suds. I foam the whole car and let it dwell for a couple of minutes. I then have a 5-gallon bucket of DIY Rinse-Less Wash V2 that I syphon with the pressure washer to rinse all the suds away. Now my car is gritless and rinse-less coated. I can use the sponge to contact wash the car, while drying each section at a time once I finish the contact. That is my hybrid wash method.
@@RADGarage Thank you! Your more than welcome to do a video on this method if so inclined. I actually use rinse-less for all stages, meaning I spread the foam from the foam cannon using water from my 5-gallon bucket of rinse-less. Then I rinse the suds with the same 5-gallon bucket. If I really want to use spotless water with this method, I don't have a DI system, instead I go to my local grocery store with my 5-gallon buck and fill it using the reverse osmosis drinking water dispenser machine for 000-005 TDS water, the water from my tap at home is really good at 050 TDS. The pressure washer I use is a RYOBI 40v 1500 PSI. I wanted a pressure washer that I could take anywhere, but it had to run on batteries, so no generator needed, and it had to syphon water from a bucket, no tank or hose needed.
If water is not a lubricant, why do they have those danger wet floor signs? Ice is made from water too and it is also low friction. Ever see an ice skater try it without water? Sorry if I’m being a hater. 35:16
I think my favorite way to wash now is the way ec details does his hybrid wash with a pre wash from a foam cannon (built hamber or something along those lines) and then use a rinseless to contact wash. That way you get the satisfying foam and the quickness of rinseless.
@@mundymulligan665 I feel like it is the most wholesome video I’ve ever made. It was such a good time. It’ll serve as a guide when I decide to tackle this method here at home.
I love the thick foam from the foam cannon. It's fun and the neighbors are wondering what I'm doing. I did order some DIY detail rinse-less wash and will be trying it out soon. It would make the weekly washes so much faster and less clean up at the end. Plus I want to try out that sponge.
If you rinse after the WSR aren't you introducing new minerals. Or was that DI water? Or in one rinse it wouldn't be significant. I guess you are drying.
He has had a very strong influence on me. He really is a good person that wants to help people. You can see it in his words and actions. There is no hidden agenda with this man. He is just a good guy. Thanks for watching.
@@FineDetailingAZ That’s where I’m at. I see value in both methods. I just derive so much pleasure when I capture foam footage on camera. It still mesmerizes me after all these years. There are times where I just need to wash my car, and I think I will be more open to the rinse less method in those circumstances.
Every click helps! Thanks for stopping by. I must admit, I wasn't a regular viewer of Keav, but seeing this man "cook". I am now a big fan! It goes without saying that Yvan is an amazing man. He has been a massive supporter of mine and I cannot thank him enough for including me in this fantastic weekend!
I’m really enjoying this series! It has allowed me to learn new stuff (opening the doors to reach the centre of the roof also reminds you to do the door jams), especially in this specific video. The three of you together is magic; perfect chemistry! I’m saving this video as a reference point it as it’s full of great tips and reminders!!
I feel like we all have the right vibe, and I am glad to hear that was communicated through the video. My time there was short, but it will last with me for a lifetime.
9:12 So is a rinse after a pre treatment absolutely necessary? Some people live in apartments that don’t have access to a hose. Depending on how dirty it is… pretreat, and then wash with the sponge?
It’s definitely not necessary(For rinse-less). Especially if you’re an apartment dweller. Just pre spray and start your contact wash. I use a battery powered Ryobi power washer to get off light dirt and start my contact wash. Sorry, assuming it’s all clean, you definitely want to rinse that off, I may have read your comment wrong.
Like Yvan mentioned, there's no wrong way and there's no right way. You just want to ensure you are being as careful and methodical as possible. In the RU-vid world, you will get flamed pretty quick if you take anything that looks like a chance, but in real life, do what works for you under the conditions you are dealing with. I won't judge!
I could see the thoughts in your head… “Yeah, that’s not going to work with dried crusted salt”, “Yeah, that’s not going to work with wildfire ash”, Then… “Okay, maybe it might”.
Rinseless has it's place for sure. I use it in winter mostly when access to a hose at my house is not available, but i pre rinse at a pay and spray first to get salt/sand etc off, then i come home and do my rinseless with bucket and sponge and i.k sprayer, then dry with my 1500. I go between Absolute and RRW for my rinseless. But summer, i do soap wash with Stjrnagloss.
You have it down to a science! I guess for me, with the ability to conduct a soapy bucket wash, I have just never really felt the need to incorporate a rinse less method, but I think I will just to add a little spice. Plus, lord knows, I have a LOT of DIY Detail Rinseless Wash. Enough to definitely last the rest of my lifetime! Thanks for watching!
@@RADGarage I still love my soap washes, if i can do them, i stick to it, but winter is the season i have no choice to use rinseless, anything to not have to go to a dreaded car wash, i hate car washes!!!!
I have been fortunate. When we first moved back to Canada from overseas, we had a condo right next door to a coin-operated wash and then we moved into this house where I quickly learned I could wash inside if I played my cards right. But, I can completely empathize with your situation. For many people, for various reasons, the rinseless method provides a great solution.
