That's Duane singing the highest harmony vocal part too in his falsetto voice!! With Berry Oakley singing the "middle" harmony vocal and Dickey Betts singing the lowest "lead" harmony vocal part (he takes the part Gregg would be singing while Gregg switches to answer the "call and response" alternating phrases utilized in the vocal vamp section) Just a great performance of what I feel is an often overlooked section of their far too brief career. They COULD have been a really powerful "vocal band" but sadly, there's not a whole lot of space for vocal harmonies in the blues or jazz...but they more than made up for it with their guitar/bass/organ harmonies!!!
It's a damn shame that the fans didn't get the chance to say their goodbye's...weren't even considered! Not sure who's idea it was to just totally disregard the one's who were responsible for all the fame and adulation he achieved but to disrespect them was totally classless. He dies,he is cremated and life just goes on.Damn shame!!
AND NO OFFENSE BUT I MUCH PREFER CHUCK LEAVELLS RENDITION IN JESSICA - NOT SAYING IT ISNT SPECTACULAR PLAYING -- NEEL IS GREAT - CHUCK PLEASES MY EARS MORE
An absolutely superb, mind blowing performance. Warren and Woody are outstanding replacements for Duane and Berry. I've been listening to this on repeat for a while. Dreams is spectacular, Warren at his finest
Good Stuff Dayne Peachman!!! hard to compare the original line up after D.A. / B.O. dealths. But in spite of that huge loss they were one of the very best Bands of all time and the ABB # 2 line up came up with amazing music second none!!! There will never be another band like them.
I first heard Mountain Jam in 71 and was instantly hooked. 55 years later, seeing the Bros. countless time's on never gets old. Always like the first time. But this version is magical. God Bless...
