Hi, I have APEX ULTIMATE since 1998 + mounting on a microphone stand, still on the side, and I went through x with me if we are playing events and I will disassemble it at least 100 times a year. He never let me down, although for years he always wears two instruments of 76 keys of 20kg each. The only thing left now is the door with 13 ”arms and a loss of rubber on the middle leg. I used the Nowsonic Nordtand stand for a while, due to the red color, but this stand was dangerous and I had to take it out. The practicality was also bad because the instruments always had to be set up, a much worse solution when counting every minute before the concert. At the moment, I am thinking about the APEX® AX-48 PRO PLUS offer, which is why I got to the video, but I am afraid that this can be avoided in terms of quality and durability, or that the quality of plastics as I was used to your old model. Or course it‘s not the same. A JD-800 is not a JD-800 only sound-wise, but mainly UI-wise. The incredible user interface of the original JD-800 is mine blowing. The Jupiter X has different sliders, but the whole look and feel of a JD-800 with the 4 layers that can be switched on and off, or the level sliders for the 4 tones. That’s all completely different with the Jupiter X emulation. And by the as: the new JD-08 is a joke with those tiny sliders. They should have spend twice the size of a boutique format width. It’s a pity. The polyphony of the JD-08 is just incredible good, but the UI lacks.

Do you have any trouble inserting or removing the 13” arms compared to the 18” arms? I would like to be able to use and store 2 sets of 13” arms because I have very slim keyboards. On the other hand, my concern is that my slim 88-key keyboards will wobble when playing on them, towards the edge. Besides accommodating 2 sets of 13” arms, do you foresee using 2 slim 88-key keyboards as problem with this type of stand, as opposed to an X-Stand?
I read that you can only add two expansions to Jupiter-X. Does this apply to the model expansions, too? Meaning, if you install JD-800 you only have a slot for one additional expansion (whether it's a model expansion or a wave expansion pack from Roland cloud Manager)? Great video!
It's one of my fav models! No subscription needed for the X, just a single one payment purchase. It also comes with access to the JD-800 Model for the Zenology plugin too, but that will require owning the Zenology plugin or subscribing to use that
Hats off to you Roland, you have done an amazing job, i have an original JD-800 and if not for real time performance controls could sell. (Not going to because i adore that synth)
