Its dope he's representin for the PSAL it shows late bloomers are a real thing. Tottenville had so many better players over the years like Cornelius, Messina, Pitt Combs, Staten, Barnes but he's the one who actually made it all the way

Dad (Pat Michael Maresca) played Varsity Football for Franklin Delano Roosevelt High School Offensive End and Defensive Tackle Both sides all games! He made TD's and SACKED the QB! Syracuse Orangemen (used to get held back a year just so they could play another year of Football) were their sworn opponent! They used to step on each others hands with their Steel Pointed Cleats. Then he went into service "enlisted" after high school, after he got out they offered him work on V.I.C.E Squad. Long time ago. Grandma told him no so he did not get the job. but He rocked in football, only 1 time he ran the wrong way the crowd yelled at him to turn around! LOL!
When I attended AMHS, ('77-81), the helmets were just gold...like N.D. Now, they look like Michigan. That's cool....I am a fan of both teams. Those were the good old days. Green Bus Line rides for a nickel, and listening to disco 92, WKTU, in the lunchroom. Wonderful memories.
I played Stuy football 1983-85 seasons, we won the leaugue championship my senior year (which was B division Bronc, Mnhattan & Quuens), and lost to Brklyn Tech for the diviion
