DIY crafts projects and ideas... I'm misp, I've been doing crafts projects all my life. Sewing, shoe making, dolls, and all the thing I needed. I was born in a small Portuguese village in Alentejo. Both my parent were artisans (Father-shoemaker and teacher; Mother-seamstress), so I've been surrounded by the habit of "making things" all my life. For 35 years I was a kindergarten teacher. Crafts and interesting projects were a daily routine in my work, not only to decorate my classroom but also to teach the children. As the years passed, the number of projects grown. And some nice ones lost!... :( So I decided to start a new big project: My youtube channel, with the gold to make a video portfolio, with how to's, for every one that enjoys making things, to see. I hope to share all that I find interesting, and with the help of my son (for the technical and video making stuff :) ), make interesting and useful content. Thank you for watching! misp
I'm looking for a machine that is durable, will last long, NO screen/lcd or any other unnecessary electronics (they break, i don't need them, just want simple), has automatic needle-threader, has top-loading bobbin and uses plastic class-15 bobbins. Has all the basic stitches and stretch-stitch for elastics. I'm considering Singer Heavy Duty 4452, as I will need to sew through leather and jeans occasionally. But I heard Singers break a lot (local sewing repair shop told me). Any suggestions pretty please?
I like that ❤. I have a pair of "boyfriend overalls" that came with tore out knees but they were only $17! But it bothers me because they are drafty😂. Ive been debating: go practical with matching denim or go cute. This way is cute.
very disappointed in this tutorial. Its really just a video of someone sewing something with no instruction. there is no supplies list, the instructor saws she shows everything in the beginning, and she does, but doesn't describe what any of them are. the PDF is just measurements with no explanation. not subscribing.
Thank you for showing how to do this! I fix EVERYTHING, but I couldn't quickly figure out the order of operations for this. I love you! You're wonderful!
I'm having the same trouble. I'm hoping turning them inside out? Maybe using iron on interfacing in a picture frame shape, and then hand sewing would be necessary around the very edges of the denim fray if you didn't want your string to get longer. I've watched a few others, maybe stretch material would be good if you have elastic in your jeans? I'm trying to figure this out too so none of this might even work, I just thought I'd throw out a few ideas.
This video makes it look a bit too easy... As a beginner, I watched the video, tried it, and had several problems that left me really disappointed with the end product. I think it would be more helpful for a video like this to have specific pointers in it (whether spoken or written), such as what to be careful with, what to be aware of, etc. One more thing: I think that for cutting the bits above and below the spine, straight scissors (but very fine) would be better than the curved ones used here; at least, if your technique with curved scissors is lacking!
