It's not prepped for either class. Technically the car is SM (A/C and some interior removed, chassis reinforcements) but in terms of performance it's more like a CSP. It fits well into B Street in the BMWCCA Boston chapter autocross, but that's just a local thing. Really it's a track car, built for J Sport (BMW club racing) so no mater what it's not that competitive. Tires....I think this was when I ran Toyo R1R. 225/50-15.
Ah, ok... watched some of your CCA videos and wasn't sure if that was the same car. I used to do some road racing/tarmac rally but in old '02s/MINI JCW. Couldn't bring myself to cage the M3. Did you obtain yours already setup for road racing or did you cage/prep it yourself?
Yup, same car. Not much changed since this video that would impact performance, just safety and timing stuff. I bought the car already caged and prepped. It kind of fell into my lap actually. I was just starting to look for a dedicated track car, and the seller, who I knew, was just getting ready to list the car. I would never have thought to look at one, but man I love the car
bluepiranha007 I was on 225/50/15 BFG R1s. Definitely dried up some by about halfway through, but only really on the racing line. Off line stayed damp.
Thanks! It's a streetable track car with a 99% stock motor. Mods are mostly in the suspension (springs, shocks, etc) and body (cage, seats and 6 points, removed a/c, radio and back seat).

I was out there with you (Yellow '74 911 flame thrower). That's some mighty smooth driving (pt1 and pt 2) especially since it sounds like you're driving a "new to you" E30 M3... real darn quick! Watched your hands, sbsolutely minimal if any corrections from turn in to track out, very consistent, especially in part 2... very enjoyable to watch, well done!
