Oh you lovely ginger sort of darling. I love that you hear this song as Country. It is so generous in a way, generous to describe her poetic voice and sound as Country. It's uniquely perceptive to include her voice in such a specific genre. Joni Mitchell has an ability, and this sort of speaks to your hearing this track as 'Country' , to pull mundane dribs and drabs from the human experience and weave them into musical essays. "You Turn Me On I'm a Radio", is certainly a 'country-ish' track of hers. Lovely. Thank you

1:58 Close, Gilmour - the guitarist - has the volume way up on his guitar and is rubbing a metal slide on the strings, but not fretting the notes, simply moving the slide up and down the neck. EDIT: You saw it was a slide a bit later on.

With much of Rush stuff you have to think symphony in several movements. Look up Kubla Khan by S. T. Coleridge, this is what the Rush piece is about .

I read that he had to paint, it was a compulsion and he painted with the colors he had. Sometimes they were very few colors as he didn’t sell any paintings before he died and he was poor. His paintings were the first I fell in love with.

Music is mostly about sound, sometimes people can't understand the lyrics because you know why its HARD ROCK its loud in your face and its awesome thats what makes it so great the lyrics are there so the singer can have something to sing and sound great while their doing it. Its all about sound people don't take the lyrics so seriously. Their mostly subliminal anyway. Turn it up and rock out and quit straining your ears to hear the lyrics or you will miss the best part. 🙄🎸🎶🎵🥁🎤

@@venturefar2851 It is not at all "all about sound". A very objective opinion you're trying to push as fact there.

One of the best reactions I 've seen and I've watched a lot of them! I love this version of this song and completely agree that with the original the meaning and depth were not there for me! This version made me think and appreciate the genius of the lyrics and the message behind them!

Absolutely! I understand why some people prefer one over the other, but I never really understood the battle people wage over them. They both are brilliant and both signify different periods within AC/DC

The constant changes are because they are a progressive rock/metal band. They were the most incredible, amazing, talented band to come from this great country of Canada. But they are done now with the passing of Neil in January of 2020 due to brain cancer. Alex and Geddy have vowed not to continue Rush out of respect to Neil, the man behind those amazing lyrics. A drummer writing the lyrics to their music! How many bands does the drummer write such amazing and thought provoking music! Anyway, love your reactions. The smile on your face is priceless. I hope you haven't gone away. I noticed you haven't posted in 7 months. Hopefully you'll be back to do that 2112 reaction (pronounced "twenty-one twelve", as in the year). It will blow you away. An epic masterpiece, IMHO. If you want another band suggestion try Dream Theater. Cheers from 🇨🇦.

Great comments. I love Joni Mitchell so much, she is the greatest in my opinion. It is a shame not knowing she was a Hippie, she is being called a country singer and possibly a redneck. She live in California and that's folk music.

Let's face it, that feeling you get is mostly Neil, but yes and to a lesser degree all three of them are Arranging while Rearranging as the song progresses... I'm a guitarist so at age 15 between the songs we 'had' to learn, we played non-stop RUSH between them... boy do I miss Neil... I mean, my god, there are no words... Rest in Peace my brother... Marty Oh, and don't bring your girlfriend to a RUSH concert, hell, your probably there because you did something good, and now this is your reward... 🙂 a reward well worth the cost. Now I'm gonna hear it from the ladies.
