i got to watch part of this show last night at parade of champions, amazing job to all of them, and their perfect percussion score. have a great rest of your season!
I'm going to be respectful but I am tuba player of the quincy senior high school marching band who also participated in the competition. The music was definitely top notch, but the rest kinda felt standard and less interesting
I definitely appreciate your candid thoughts, and moreso your respectful commentary on them. I won't comment either way in that regard - as a former band member I probably would let my opinions be known, haha - but I can say that despite everything, there was clearly just SOMETHING the judges saw and liked between them and Collinsville that got their attention. That's okay. The season isn't quite over yet, there's still Clark county, and who knows what next year will bring? Fire up, big blue!
I'm actually a trumpet player in the Fort Zumwalt North band, and I just want to say that I loved your show. A lot of my friends thought that you guys would have beat us, especially in the music category, but I guess the judges saw something in the choreography or maybe the marching in my show that made them put us in front of you. Everyone I've talked to in my band agrees that you should have at least gotten second, none of us really liked Collinsville but everyone loved yours
They did! They ended up winning several extra awards during prelims and finals and took first in both as well. Not my kids' band but all of the kids, staff, and parents should be very proud of their hard work! It was an awesome show.
@@CataclysmicStar sadly my band got last in everything (we're really small and its our first year EVER doing field) but watching all the bands and all their shows made me so happy and gave me hope we could someday be like that
@@bbq_chimken I was in Quincy's band in high school. I can say as a former student that it definitely can hurt when you don't place, or don't place where you feel you should be. But I absolutely remember all the hard work and dedication that went into what you guys are doing! It is SUPER hard work. And your first year competing! It will only get better from here, I promise! As a parent, now, I can say: Please be proud of yourselves! You have worked super hard to even get to this point. Everybody last night did an amazing job, worked hard, and sounded fantastic. Nothing about competition is easy! Please be proud of what you guys have done as individuals and as a group!
i remember this storm because 1) i got engaged one week before 2) i was out walking by Jr High area as it rolled in. i think i beat my personal former military run time of 6.49 minute mile running back home! barreled through my front door just as the sound of trees snapping started
I was at pop's pizza at the time, it was my brother's birthday and we went in the basement and came back up and the window had a huge crack in it. I swear EVERY tree was toppled over.
I remember this I live here. I've heard some people say it was an EF1. A tree fell on my house and after me and my neighbors looked at the damage. The power was still out so we had to drink all of our Gatorade xD. It was scary.
CataclysmicStar mhm! I still cannot get over the fact it was 3 days after my birthday, I live there, and the next year on the same day was a rlly bad storm too! ( 7/13/16)
