I had buy the seperate versions , I got some originals , too , also are these earlier model, so modern versions , so Anton Senna a awesome driver , lot like Peter Brock in Aus touring cars , so , I enjoyed your video., I got buy this set , so , love f1 , I grew up.watch him on tv , I have dvd about him too , so , in his day he raced at Adelaide , until moved to Melbourne , so there was Aus grand prix at Calder Park too , and even in the late 50s Melbourne had grand prix too , I got few f1 books , so , nice ideas for my Scalextrics , sets layouts , so , the originals had turbo flash , for us in Aus we dont think had any car magnets too so , for some reason, so , on mine used a shorter front axles , I can change them back , my new ones ok , so., He was a awesome driver , sadly missed , I never had many Scalextric sets growing up so once grew up got some and cars too , I had Bathurst 84 set , sadly gave away , but good fortune in my life bought or swapped cars so as good as what I lost , I loved F1 just as much growing up , so awesome video , thanks too ,

Another great vid! I am glad I found your channel. Hope you are still around, and will continue to release some more fun content! As for your cars.... I really like that Hemi Cuda. Killer car. And I agree on those cheap Scalextric NASCAR style cars. You get a lot fr your money with those - at $30 bucks a pop. Super affordable, and of course they're not incredible cars But durable and fun - and they look the part when I want to go Days of Thunder mode! LOL
Hey from The States! This is a fun vid! Love this. Subbed. I'm just getting into Slot Cars again.... since I have not messed with them for at least 30 years, since I was a kid with my Grandpa. I'm having a blast, and I am instantly obsessed with it again! LOL Just got a wild hair a few weeks ago... and boom! It happened. I'm starting with a Carrera (Analog) track, and some add-ons. I'm going to build some guard-rails with advertisements. And I am picking up several of these Scalextric NASCAR themed basic cars. I especially like the Thunderbirds. But I'll probably pick up one or 2 of the Monte Carlos as well - just to keep it real. I just like the T-Bird shape better.. the way they did these. Great budget cars. Simple and tough. And super cheap! I think you made a great vid. Super fun, and I dig your style and attitude! I'd love to see more of your content on this great hobby! All the best over there!
Great video, these cars really run well, I did the same bought off ebay for track use thinking they were the same as the single packs, but the black one is different, the single is a 97T and the pack one is a 98T, different mould. The single 97T has had a bit more care put into the design but not much difference overall. You are right about the missing turbo flash, one of the best bits on the originals. I don't think they have given senna much mention as I believe his name and image is a licensed brand by his family so guessing hornby wouldn't pay out for that. Will never forget watching the race in which we lost him live on tv nor the race at Monaco where mansell tried everything to get past him, miss those days of F1
Thank you for your response regarding the video. Yes those days of racing 🏁 🏎 were truly special. I'm interested in the new f1 cars scalextric are going to bring out. But I wonder if the older ones are still better.... kinda like the real thing.... they don't make cars like they use to.
Tips tru the tyres with sandpaper taped on the track back ones mainly or front and back for best results then get some sticky tape clean the tyres with the sticky side then a little spray of wd40 or 3-in-1 oil on the tyres leave to set and dry the tyres for an hour and she won't be giving you any problems on that corner

Bought it, put it on my Carrera track. First crash I had with it half of the front spoiler broke off. The tires are skinny and have no traction, feels like you are driving the car on ice. Definitely the first and last Scalextric slot car I'll ever buy.
Thanks for commenting great to hear other people's thoughts... to be fair I think you would be seriously missing out on some outstanding car's if this is the only scalextric car you ever get... I hear your point 👉 and understand where you're coming from. However scalextric do say the car is not a super resistance car. Meaning you need to take care while driving it. As it can't take much punishment. They do make super resistance car's that can take a good bashing. I've got both. I drive both very differently. Check out some of my other videos and you might understand what I'm trying to get across. Anyway hope you might be able to fix it ? 🙂
I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this car... one is enough to enjoy. Bit I would love to know how the other ones are in comparison. I think I got especially lucky with the one I got. From my understanding the same car produced is not always the same... I would have loved to have Brought 2 or 3 of this same car... and tested them all out ??? GREAT CAR
@@londonboyracergq1625 there's two different versions of the car there is a C 1431 which I think is from the box set which is the one I've just ordered by mistake. And there's c4226 ,wichni think is digital and got different lights . But ye the Porsche cars are fantastic have you seen the blue one with the black headlights. I have just ordered a fly Porsche it's has a sound chip with its I can't wait to get that I'll start uploading a few videos of my cars I've just done one of my Lamborghini

Good , lovely set up you have there , so Im Rohan by the way and I been in my hobby slot cars , and tracks for 5 yrs in Jan next year , sadly I dont have a family , Im not a husband or Father , so i been unlucky in romance , so am almost mid 50s , myself , so I got a girlfriend she and I live apart , so about my slot cars I enjoy it and its fun and just im happy enjoy slot cars when ,I can Im into racing cars , f1 , road and big sedans , so its fantastic so , I do my own repairs too , so , I remember as a 12 or 13 yr old getting a Scalextric Bathurst set in early 80s era , sadly never kept it but got slot cars same eras and I , only a late starter , so , its awesome and fantastic, Im old myself , so I enjoy the way cars look , handle and I just enjoy them so great hobby , so I , did my best with it , so the detail is great so have made my own luck too , I stay off ebay , so I buy them new now , so so glad you and your son enjoy it , so thats nice , I sadly live alone , never married, so , sad am so alone , so slot cars and track keeps me busy so its fun , so I just lucky get a slot car every fortnight so I love Scalextric, and got 4 other brands too , so its fun , it gets so lonely here , so I sadly live and sleep alone , so i accepted it so I love my slot cars so they awesome so God bless you all there , peace and love for all , take care enjoy too
The camaro was from the IROC series. All the cars in that series were the same model just different colors. They used different cars over the span of the series which started in 1974 and different racers were invited from all types of racing from all over the world to race thats series

Beautiful cars!!! You're also a slot car fan, a NASCAR fan, and a NY Giants fan? We must be related Lol!! I became a NASCAR fan in the late 70's so I love that period of cars through the 1980s. I used to go to the July 4th race at Daytona Beach for years (at the Daytona Speedway, I'm too young to have seen the beach races Lol!). If they ever make a slot car for the Wood Brothers #21 Purolator Mercury that David Pearson and Neil Bonnett drove in the 1970's, I'd buy it up in seconds. As for the blue Camaro, that's from the IROC (International Race of Champions) series that began in the 70's and ran for years. Each year, the IROC series would provide about 12 similar cars, supposedly prepared the exact same way. They would invite 12 of the best drivers in the world, from all different racing series (NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula 1, sports cars, etc). Each year they would run a handful of races whenever they could schedule those drivers to race at the same time, to see who could say they were the best of the best. There would be a points system and they'd crown a champion each season. It was great to see Andretti, Foyt, Rutherford, Mears, etc racing against the NASCAR stars of the day like Waltrip, Earnhardt, Allison, and Petty. I think the NASCAR guys had an advantage since most of the races were held on oval tracks Lol.

Just highlighting why I love this hobby along with the motor sport. I am a fan of alot of different types things your absolutely right. So yes. I am a British citizen I have been to a few different parts of America. So I am a general fan of alot of America teams, cars and places... like NY gaints and Boston red socks to name a few... I hope that makes sense. Its a amazing country. Truly amazing. I'm with you for sure I would certainly pick up that car in a heartbeat if it arrives on the scene. Hi the reason for the price is because scalextric have been loosing money for many years, it cost so much to design the cars and have them made, then they have to pay many thousands of pounds in license fees to the brands, so if they make a for escort for example they have to pay ford thousands and they have to try and get some of that money back and try and make a profit, and they always struggle to make any profit. But well done for buying and supporting the brand without people like us buying it it will dissappear, to many kids playing consoles these dsys to bother with scalextric and train sets etc, if you want to buy cheap cars for your son to crash etc look on ebay Facebook etc you can get used cars sometimes for £5 to £10 that are fine to race. Myself I've over £10k worth of scalextric and need to start getting rid lol, collected to long and spent to much money. Good luck have fun.

For example if that license fee was true (which I'm not sure if they do that anymore) all they have to do it change it. For example they company e.g. ford/Ferrari whoever just gets a percentage of the sale.... which is what most business are doing in these times. The price hike is not the worth of the model. The price hike is the shipping mate. It's a 30 qiud car. Inflation has hurt hornby real bad. Shipping coast out of China are ridiculous.

Would be amazing! The production is still cheap. But the shipping container has doubled. Used to be 6k for a container out of China now it's almost. 15k moving all the production out of China would bankrupt hornby. (SCX scalextric 🇪🇸) Ships out China thru FedEx its now cheaper to fly out.
@@londonboyracergq1625 so NSR has the production facility in shop. They started literally from the floor up. There a very small company with just a few workers. And the labor in southern Italy is really cheap. Way cheaper than the U.K. that's how there able to keep it low. And prices to profits are alot better. Slot.it is also italian they design in Italy and build in China. They fly out there product. But they too are a small company. Hornby is huge. Lots off people and sell to a nich market. Hornby is very aware of the issue. They know they cornerd them self and they are trying to dig them selfs out. But when a scaley is the se price as a competition slot car they feel the pain. They have lost alot and I mean alot of sales. This year I have just bought one scaley. Were on a normal year i would buy 5 to 8 car. 😔

Scalextric was once a small company. I understand that they are a massive company in comparison... and you mentioned the disadvantages... however this also comeS with massive advantages too!!! All the profit they make from selling the kids scalextric stuff (which is worldwide 🌐 🤣) use the money 💰 to get a small facility in the UK 🇬🇧 🙄 and then on there website they have a separate section that could be called 🤔... ELITE ADULT SCALEXTRIC CARS all the cars say in the £80 - 90 pound range... made in the UK 🇬🇧 🙌 by UK engineering 😀 😎 people will buy it and it could be better than nsr and slot it. But at the moment there in no man's land. With there cars I am sure you know what I mean. The real problem is they are making so much money 💰 on the kids stuff this is going to be there focus. Watch my review on the porsche as alot of people are saying this is there last good car?? I've had it a while now and it's exceptionally wonderful. I might even get a second. It could even compete with my policar... this shows you they can do it if they want. anyway it's a tricky conversation....

All brands of 1/32nd scale analogue cars will run on all brands of 1/32nd scale analogue track. The only thing you will have to do to run Carrera cars is to replace the guide fitted to the car with the one supplied for Scalextric track in the back of the cars jewel case, as the depth of the Carrera track slot is greater and slightly wider than the slot on a Scalextric track.
Internet's a great place for getting some of the cars you really want at bargain prices; but there are a lot of chancers out there too trying to get a fortune for cars that aren't worth anywhere near that. Tyres are easy enough though, you can get those easily on ebay.

I do like the styling although I dont think it has the most realistic stying. My Carrera porsche and fly porsche as well as some other brands like sideways and scaleauto look more realistic. I push mine a little harder and it usually ends up on the roof

This is one thing Scalextric is fantastic at and are better than other brands... much better in fact. So I can not agree with you in that respect. However other brands are certainly better in performance. In this case with this particular car Scalextric have done a very good job in its performance too. Make no mistake this is a top car. Can I just point out that you should look at the price of a Warhammer basic set, see what you get for that. You get a lot more for the money with Scalextric. Yes I agree it's expensive, but not compared to other similar hobbies. I just got back into this after many years. I guess because I always did like racing and cars. First thing I bought was KITT before I realised I couldn't run that on my old 1980s track. So had to get a new set and it's grown from there. I love organising mine too, each car has a driver and team. All catalogued In Excel.

Maybe i should do a video of my old stuff? Do you have it to? However I do agree with what you are saying about scalextric in comparison. But I do think they could throw something in a set to make it a bit more attractive 🤔.... even if it was cardboard cut ✂️ outs? Inexpensive for them. But would light up the imagination. Scalextric are bringing out a new bad version of the KITT car I saw it recently added to their website. Would you get it? I'm not sure? As I love the KITT one I have but surely this is going to be very similar? Hopefully someone will review it on RU-vid. Great idea 💡 with the excel spreadsheet. I might do something along those lines. I collected Warhammer for the last 35 years I ha e actually just sold lots to buy scalextric. I just picked up the CADIA STANDS BOX few months back for the new minis but now am in to scalextric nothing is getting painted
To be fair there isn't a lot of pressure on the wheels; certainly not enough to cause wear unless it's running; and the tyres I'm afraid over time will perish anyway if they are still rubber as they used to be. Some of my cars have been sitting in their boxes nearly 20 years and only recently got back into it myself but with a little tlc I have 50 saloon/sports and 6 F1 cars back up and running. main thing needed was tyres and the old pinion gears on the motors tended to split with age. Loving your channel and seeing you get into the hobby. it gets expensive, doesn't it?
Yes it does... I will need to take it easy as you can easily get carried away with overspending. Your right there. Wow that sounds like a amazing collection. Thanks for the information about the tyres good to know. I loved scalextric as a kid so now my son is at that age... it's given me that spark. Its great doing it together. they certainly aren't the most expensive slot cars on the market. None seem any cheaper to me when I look around. It's a shame that they have put them out of reach of kids just starting out. I do race my nice models; but with the Arc Air I use the app to test the top speed of them then scale it back to something more realistic. Only last night I had a Ford Capri (a 90's model) clock a scale speed of over 300mph so that got scaled right back. There is a downside to that in that the magnets on the modern ones are so powerful you don't slow down other than a very tiny fraction of a second lift on the throttle into the corner.
