Nice job on that cripple. He definitely wasn't where you dropped him. What county are you in? I hunt in Iroquois county around Milford. I hunted the last day to. Got two birds and was soaked with that wet snow we had.
Hey thank you so much! I was ready to reset but everything worked out in the end. Let's connect on Instagram if you have that. I'd love to chat...@myuplandhunts on Instagram
Great retrieval. Love to hear the excitement. Man it’s crazy how we all don’t listen to our dogs. All the hints she was giving you about where that rooster was. Been there before. Not easy hunting when you don’t have many birds but the reward is definitely worth it. Great video and subscribed.
Aw man, I appreciate that Brad! It was definitely a great way to end the season for us. I was skeptical and ready to reset from where the bird went down..and as you saw, I didn't need to lol Glad you enjoyed 👊
Great recovery! I had a similar situation this year. Sadly the bird just got away from by dog running into briars. Then a 200 yard track that went cold after 45min. Always great to see those runner last recovered! Well done to the both of you!
Nice video. It can get tough up here, but there are definitely birds around. I have 1 GSP that doesn't give a shit about barbed wire and never been stuck. Another one that is careful around it and he has had stiches multiple times this year.
I see and hear roosters every day about a mile from where I live in Illinois. I take my dog there every morning to get him on wild birds. It's an oasis among surrounding farms that plow up to their back doors and drain every waterway on their property. Glad it's there.
Not rare at all. Where there is habitat there are lots of birds. Where we generally hunt if we don't put up 50 birds in a day it was a poor hunt. Have seen upwards of 300 as well and sometimes ONLY 20.
The first couple of clips I had my 20 Gauge Weatherby Element...but that OD green with the cerakote is the CZ1012. Really great and light gun that I consider my brush beater and go to gun.
At least you gave it a solid effort trying to find that bird.we use to hunt alot in central illinois around shelbyville. What part of the state do u guys hunt?and hows the bird numbers been this season, just curious.
My dad would take us to Ford County as kids to hunt. That's where they would go when they were my age, now. I remember there being plenty of birds in the back of the car as a kid. Nowadays, not so much.
