Thank you, that was excellent - clear, concise, articulate and very helpful. My friend Monsieur Pedantic tells me that you missed a tiny bit of knockout on the 'n' of 'on'. No matter but would he get a prize for spotting the deliberate error?
First of all, thanks for watching. Yup, just how to design a real patch. The problem I came across with faux patches is the embroidery will never look like the mockup. ie text too small, fine lines not embroidering at all or messy. So this tutorial was to give a little insight of things to look at when considering embroidery patches. I'll do a video on embroidery mockups at some point though ;-) have a great one!
Bro, the amount of effort it took me just to draw the circle!! I followed all the steps but B&W had the red dash through them so when I hid the copy layer the circles would disappear!! luckily a little bit of ps helped out lmao
@@KeeponCreatingTV I have been using photoshop and Illustrator for 20+ years but had no idea about these awesome and easy methods of creating textures in Illustrator. Watched several times and really helpful for some vector shirt graphics. I literally spent 80 bucks in Creative Market this afternoon on effects and was super stressed before my designer friend sent me your video. You saved the day! I was looking for a 1 click action solution but every logo and graphic is different. Thanks for creating these helpful videos.
hello ,thanks for great video )),Appreciate! only one issue is the sound ,your voice the microphone I guess cant hear very well after introduction you switch from. .Please liitle bit more sound editing for better sound ,my Volume is up 100% all is good .. Thanks again for Sharing is Caring Video!)
@@KeeponCreatingTVhey one more thing please, I know you’re busy and hopefully you can reply. So I watched the tutorial and the expand worked, however the interact did not. And clue? Or even another tutorial? I am knee deep in learning!
@@KeeponCreatingTVit’s at 6:56, I also meant intersect, sorry lol. Dude those letters are so sick man. It would only allow the halftone in one letter for me. My letters were a dark green with like halftone and a black outline around the letter. It turned the one letter all black with lime halftone and all other letters were normal. I appreciate you!
Alright man, coming up on 4 years here and since this video is still tracking well when searching for a halftone tutorial you should really update it. I mean at least put the last part directions in the description.
Loved that video it came out so freaking clean! I created something similar and I was astonished by the results, seeing your work I am inspired to give it another shot When I made my own I just remember how long it took to create, I've been discouraaged, but bro!! you brought it back, thanks man Keep on creating!!!!
Graphic styes REALLY slow down your file and Illustrator performance. I have a newer mac with 128gb of RAM, optimized Illustrator settings, and still noticed a significant decrease in performance. I use transparency for my textures and its way better for performance.
Brat glup te napraivme za djabe gleame kako dupka da ima vo monitorov od edno uvo vlaga od drugo izlaga pa pu mater mu ibam bidi malce po direkten :D Pozz :)
PATH FINDER PROBLEM SOLUTION: Convert both objects (dots and text) into a "Compound Path (Ctrl+8)" separately, and you'll be able to apply the pathfinder tool easily. 😀😇😇
So When I expand my stroke near the end it has a small moon shape not sure what I did wrong started from scratch several times with the same issue I have used affinity designer for a year and a half still learning as you never stop learning
I want to make custom $uicide boy$ patches so bad, no one sells the ones I want and making them is so complicated. I’m so sad. Thank you for this video tho!! Blessings💕
hey mate, ive been trying this, when ever i open it up in acrobat it "greys out" of cuts images that overlap the other ones, for examp all of the reg marks are being cut out by my first colour
Try changing your reg marks to 'Registration' colour in your swatches. If your swatches are in default mode it's the colour swatch just after the first swatch (none) in the top row.
I have always used raster iamges and creating illustrations for me it is super hard to learn the "vector mindset" but these red "helper" rectangles made so much sense. Never understood before how they mesure so precise in vector images
10:09 Before you expand your artwork, in your Image Trace panel, go towards the bottom and click on Ignore White. After you have done that and tweaked any settings, I highly recommend playing with the sliders to familiarize yourself with how to get the best quality out of your tracing results, then you can click expand in the menu or go to Object, Expand. The less clicks you have to make, the faster your workflow will become.
Had the same problem, it was driving me nuts...I think it's a glitch in affinity unfortunately... I fixed it by doing the "expand stroke / divide / add" sequence one line at a time. And even then sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't... Don't get scared if you get the weird cat eyes effect during the procedure, you'll only be able to know it worked at the last step when you click "add" at the end. Hope it will help !
Not able to do the divide step. Something missing. Is there something specific to be done while expanding the strokes before dividing ? Not getting the same vectors. Tried many times. But in vain...
