Dang man! That sounded great! I would’ve liked to have seen a shootout between the Mikko and the stock cab from the pedal, but I remember it not sounding anywhere near that good. 🙌🏻
The best! Their packs are awesome and what got me started with ML, but Mikko 2 is the most amazing thing ever and all I use now. Making your own custom IRs is the best
I’m using Mikko 2 with all the amped plugins, line 6 helix, pod go, helix native, and neural quad cortex. ML Sound Lab is the constant in my rig no matter the other gear used
That’s really weird, there was sound when I uploaded this for at least the first week and I don’t recall seeing a notification that it was muted. I’ll look into it, thank you for the heads up
@@scottgifford it seems too! Although I’m sure the patchwork has other features. Just fyi the studio rack won’t load vst3 instruments, but you can get ones like vital or surge via by adding I/O parameters under the setup tab in PT
@@jls8 I’ll get a video done walking through the preset and the IR I made for it. I’ll include a link to the IR preset in Mikko 2 since that’s a big part of the tone. It will be linked in my link tree when I get the video done.
This is another plug-in on my short list! I have the fluff Mesa and the Josh Middleton triple from STL… both sound good, but I have yet to find a Mesa plug-in that nails it completely. The one knob Rev-C from bogren actually comes close… it seems like this one might do the trick if paired with a decent V30 OS cab IR!
This one is so so good. It sounds every bit as good as my old Roadster. Pair it up with the Mikko 2 free version since it’s the v30 os cab and dial in your own perfect IR 💪
@@Ambitiouz_mindset It had a switch there on the bottom right to toggle to the lite version. I’m running a pretty basic pc though and can run this and the peavey Icon simultaneously without any issues
Absolutely, what are you using for amp simulation? Mikko 2 is a cab IR vst that provides basically unlimited tonal options with the speaker, cabs, and mic available but it doesn’t do the amplifier. I’d highly recommend grabbing the Roots from them. The 5034 amp in there is completely free, but make sure you turn off the speaker simulation in that amp and have Mikko 2 after it. I’d be more than happy to make a video if needed
Thank you, I kinda dig it. Typically id want something else to balance out the v30, but it sounds pretty good with the bite. In a mix I think it would be quite cool

There are way too many sounds to even scratch the surface in a 10 min video, this is just an overview of the features and controls work sounds on the way. Each one of the 38 cabs could each easily have their own 10-30 min video
That’s awesome! It’s my go to now for any orange tone. I made do for quite a while with the Mandarin in the Helix, but this just sounds so much more realistic. I’m very happy with this one and I don’t think you’re going to regret it 🤘
Can I set the Eq ,compressor well playing or is this done after u record ya guitar parts? I wanna dial in guitar tone well playing. Drop c, high gain metal . I have this Eq and a the blue cat audio Eq. I'm using reaper they have some nice built in stuff. Im getting the super duper from ml sound lab I have the fluff/Stevie t amps + many other free amps. ( Super new to playing on my computer) . I want have an Eq after my amp well I play. I more or less i wanna do the cuts well playing. I use a very bright ,boosted high gain tone. I hear the low end flab and that 'fake' high end u get with plugins etc. Ty
Do u set the hp/lp in the ir loader? I set the hp/lp in Nova right ? Then cut/boost In Nova then I can Single what freq I want with the compression band in Nova right ? I see people check 80-300ish . And it's all 12db bell? What that mean lol ty
I do my hp/lp before the amp in my daw. It feels like it helps the amps respond a bit more like the real thing and it’s just personal preference. I’ll run another eq after to sculpt my tone if needed. In my helix, I do the hp/lp in the IR section with my ML Soundlab IRs, as well as the global eq doing those cuts though on the global I’m not cutting quite as much out

Yeah, I set the hp and lp in reaper with tdr nova. I don’t eq the amp at all until last. I have a video dropping Thursday where you’ll see my process better, but I set the gain structure of the amp, then I go to the cab section/IR and find something there that has the response I’m wanting and as close to the tone as I can get. I then choose whether to use a boost for that, then I fine tune with amp eq and tdr nova.

Great tone and thanks for info. I've recently got the ML Sound Lab Flagship which is incredible. Such a great sound. I've been learning about multiband compressors recently and see that this plug-in does the equivalent and more. Going to download it today and try it out.
EQ ing is all good you can even do that if you use the Mikko Player .I just want to say I came home from going out on a Friday night then I started seeing whats up with what sounds to use for up coming recordings and unfinished songs on the plate and back burner. I messed with my plugin alliance amp sims, IK media's Amplitube 5 which has a plethora of options , PRS amp sims from Waves and even Softubes Amp room or individual sims. and all I have to say is I'm glad I blew more money on amp sim plugins with these Ml lab sims and IRs bc Now i'm confident I can be lazy but more musically creative and not mic up amps in which i already have been dodging , ML lab stuff sounds immensely superior to these other products in which have been pretty good .but this company got it rite I won't be needing to use my many mics and amps bc these are serious , as good as the Axe F/X, kemper line 6 and headrush type sounds in fact since you can tweak them in a DAW look out brothers and sisters this CO is killing it and they just started a few years ago. try them out it's free! not just one or 2 but all of them, Keep The ones that are your sound. you can trash the others out of your folders in the library of your system. you'll probably keep a nice amount like I did . and the sale is now if it ends Christmas will probably bring more sales , very affordable as well ! the Icon above is one I kept , peace !
I agree, I still love my helix and use it for all my live tones but the ML Soundlab stuff sounds absolutely killer and being able to tweak in the daw with all my plugins means I can be as “plug-and-play” or as detailed as I want to be
Absolutely. I bought it yesterday and it's right up there with the Neural DSP Cali when it comes to Metal distortion. One of the most brutal amp sims I've ever heard.
