Ella is the gold standard of Jazz singing. Her trademark is being used by any jazz singer currently in the industry. She is indeed a legend and a master of her trade.
The string pulled on that base when Frank said “And WHAT A GIRL”. It sounded so sultry. I’ve always associated Ella’s voice with the jazz base; they go amazingly together.
Very frustrating that this marvellous number has never appeared on any release from Diana. They didn't even include it on the soundtrack album. The track is now over forty years old, and her fans still have no way of adding it to their collection.
My heart is sad and lonely! For you I sigh, for you dear only. Why haven't you seen it? I'm all for you, Body and Soul. I spend my days in longing, And wondering why it's me you're wronging. I tell you, I mean it, I'm all for you, Body and Soul! I can't believe it, Its hard to conceive it That you'd turn away romance. Are you pretending? It looks like the ending!-- Unless, I can have One more chance to prove dear.. My life a wreck you're making! You know I'm yours For just the taking I'd gladly surrender Myself to you, Body and Soul!
