Thanks so much for the video, it was great seeing photos from Spain. Can you please tell me if it is possible to add grain to in camera jpegs? I've heard it is possible for black and white but not for color photos. Is that true?
Can't understand why only Fujifilm has this lens in APSC world. Seems like a no brainer combination of a fast aperture and focal length. Hopefully some manufacturer would fill the gap for other systems and Fujifilm too. Really liked my small full frame 28mm 2.8 but would like to stick with APSC for the forma factor.
@@torchbox the Canteener 3.5L now has an add-on option for dividers. I believe this option was only added later because when I checked out it's product page when it first launched, it didn't have this add-on option. Hope this helps!
I received mine last Friday and havent even had the time to take it outside. But I tried what gear it would fit and my a7r5 + sigma 14-24 or tamron 28-200 fit nicely !
Looking for a 75/85mm lens. Size matters for me as I need to carry my gear around a lot. TTArtisan's 75mm f2 being smaller is very appealing. Any thoughts?
@@AndreiDimaReviews why would "budget" even be a part of the equation? At this price level a couple hundred dollars more or less make no difference. The error of all these Chinese companies is thinking that you can win the competition on price alone -- you can't.
@@USGrant21st When I say budget, I don’t necessarily mean just the price of the lens; I’m also referring to the budget behind its development. Price alone? This lens offers very good AF, solid image quality, and even a rubber gasket for $160. That’s more than just price.
Love your video. Regarding the auto ISO, you can assign a button for that and while pressing the button you assigned and use the front dial it will turn on/off the auto iso and the back dial change the iso (with the physical iso iso set to c.
Hola Andrei! Me compre este lente gracias a tu reseña, me ha llegado ya, pero necesito saber si estoy haciendo algo mal ya que no enfoca en automático, solo manual. Espero puedas ayudarme con esta duda. Gracias😀
How would you say this compares to the 7artisans 35mm f1.4 you reviewed. I know the obvious differences like af and metal vs plastic, but which did you prefer to use or had better image quality/ character?
I think both lenses have some nice characteristics, but I prefer the Meike 35mm f2. It has nice contrast and a warm tone I forgot to mention in the video.
Awesome I think that decided it for me. It’s got af if I want it and a gasket to protect the camera for basically the same price. What’s not to like? Any chance you’ve tried the Pergear 35mm f1.4? It seems to be another decent option, and is the cheapest of the 3
I have an XT3 which I love a lot and feel very attached to it, but gosh how I miss my Nikon F3, that was one the most beautiful things I ever touched. So Im planning getting my hands on ZF and that's it, the last 2 cameras I will ever own. :)
This lens would be a success for Meike, because of that: 1) I see a certain amount of 3D Pop into the images (OOF rendering & microcontrast) 2) The price is really fair (179 EUR) - one can't ask for less 3) It's big and huge, also with the lens hood, and plastic - but really, for that money, well made 4) The IQ does look good enough, especially considering the asking price 5) USB port for firmware updates, so if there are performance enhancements, compability issues - Meike easily could fix that via FW update 6) 58mm is not too huge, not too expensive in terms of filter size 7) It's avialable for Nikon Z, Leica L and Sony E-Mount systems 8) It does have AF 9) It does even feature a rubber gasket at the bajonet mount (rare for such an inexpensive lens), so i assume this lens is at least some kind of splash and dust proof, when using with a front mounted filter 10) It's a 35mm F2 AF lens - price to performance ratio seems to be extraordinary
Exactly! One thing I forgot to mention in the video about the Meike 35mm f/2 is that it has a warm tone, which looks great during the morning and golden hour.
@@AndreiDimaReviews exactly! It's 179 EUR via Meike Homepage. What does one expect for the money, AF and 35/F2? Seriously. I'd love to have this lens on my A7 & A7S II, it's always great, to have *more* 3rd party lens choices.
@@AndreiDimaReviews Yes, for <200 bucks, it's IQ seems to be really fine. I mean, i'd have loved a metal barrel, but hey...it's a sub 200 bucks lens, and offers a faily complex setup with 11 elements into 9 groups, that is not the usual 5 elements 35mm/2.8 lens design from the 80's.
Apparently the company doesn't think beauty has much of a value. They don't understand that a large appeal of Zf is the looks, and people wouldn't want an ugly thing mounted on it.
