i am a fan of Aaron Kyle Tveit. this is an archive of interviews and stuff he’s done. it’s me posting songs he’s sung. there also might be some fun compilations in here.
Ayyy at him saying “there’s no fat on it” as a good thing. To quote Lin Manuel Miranda, Sweeney is “sumptuous.” Honey, it is the most voluptuous queen on Broadway. Otherwise loved this interview! These two came in ready and ate. Sound gorgeous and are so very moving ♥️.
I love them talking about how "you think you know sweeney todd"... its such a layered and difficult show both vocally and acting wise, and alot miss the point. These two really get it!
Him nonchalantly saying ”yeah it’s a bit more of a baritone role” in response to the question about him being a tenor, after all the backlash is super funny to me. And FACTUAL, since Sweeney been played by lighter baritone voices and tenors before. (yes I’m commenting on my own video who gives a shit not ME)
Interesting. I've seen baritones exclusively in regional productions. Ideally I'd prefer a baritone but Aaron's acting made it work. Sweeney was the best I've ever heard him sing. I saw Josh last year but his portrayal was lacking for me.
Can we talk about his movement, though? It’s so fluid and smooth! *This* is what should be studied for animation. Maybe I’ll do so myself if I decide to do animation professionally. Edit: He don’t know what do do with his hands. Anybody else notice that?
Don't like this casting. He's not giving me the slimy arrogance. Also his voice is too high for the role. The notes are too low in high range to give that tension and interest. Meh
wow i thought he was the best fyero ive ever seen.... he's hands down the best dancer, which... yk the song is called dancing through life. I thought he was pretty flirty which makes sense, he did do quite a lot of opt ups which make up for the song being low in his register.
